Hastings International Chess Congress returns this year after cancellation due to covid in 2020, however, some restrictions will be in place.

We are very disappointed to report that the centre has been the target of deliberate attacks over the past few days, including a break-in through a window last night, deliberate vandalism inside the building and a further intrusion tonight that resulted in a broken fence. The young people involved have been seen and police investigations are underway, including examination of CCTV footage, fingerprints and DNA samples. We are working with the police who will be patrolling the area regularly for us. We also now have a security patrol, with a dog, who will be checking the building regularly.

Ore Community Centre is entirely run by a team of volunteers and volunteer trustees. Yesterday we had a team meeting over lunch in the centre's sunny rear courtyard. The trustees would like to thank our wonderful volunteers for all their help and ideas which will help us to build a successful community centre for Ore and the surrounding areas. Not pictured is our chair of the Community Association, Gary Rolfe, whose excuse is that he was taking the photo. :-) We all look forward to welcoming you all to the centre. We are open for bookings.
