Hastings Rocks is evolving — and we want the filmmakers, artists, storytellers, activists and creative voices of Hastings to be part of what comes next.
This year, we’re expanding our vision beyond our horror roots to explore the things that unsettle us, challenge us and demand change.

✊ Activism and social change
🖤 Identity, isolation and inequality
🤖 Technology and AI
🌍 Conflict and the anxieties shaping our world
👻 And, of course, bold, strange and brilliant HORROR.
We’re looking for short films, documentaries, features, experimental work, animation, music videos and more — and we especially want to discover work being made right here in Hastings and the surrounding creative community.
Hastings has always been a town of risk-takers, outsiders, artists and game-changers. We want Hastings Rocks to be a place where those voices come together — where we don’t just watch films, but talk about them, challenge ideas, meet each other and use creativity to inspire change.
