Less than a week now until our spring concert! Rehearsals have been going really well and we're so looking forward to performing these beautiful works. We'd love to see you in our audience! Whether your preference is for the Italianate lyricism of Rossini’s consummate vocal writing, Brahms’ richly romantic harmonies and textures or the nervous energy of Beethoven’s overture, you’ll find something to delight you in this varied programme.

We so enjoyed our Carols for All last weekend and were delighted to be joined by HPO Songbirds for the occasion! What a fantastic audience, too! A wonderful way to start our Christmas celebrations. The interval raffle raised over £300 for our choir funds, so many thanks to everyone who took part.

Well that was another exciting concert! Thank you to everyone who made it such a success: to Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra, our brilliant soloists Helen May, Sarah Denbee, Leonel Pinheiro and Robert Winslade Anderson, the amazing HPO Songbirds, Phil O'Meara for the haunting and beautiful 'No Man', Marcio for his meticulous rehearsal and energetic direction, for the lovely photos, and, of course, to our wonderful audience - you!

Next Thursday we will be performing Philip O’Meara’s ‘No Man’ - a piece we were honoured to premiere at our inaugural concert during our very first season.

Philip O'Meara is a London-based composer, audio-visual producer, and performer known for composing music for various media, including orchestral, choral, dance, and television. He has produced content for BBC Radio 2, 3, and 6Music and has worked with numerous artists, including Elton John and Billie Eilish. O'Meara's work spans classical music, contemporary pieces, and production across different platforms.

Not long now!

Did you know? Beethoven was profoundly deaf when Symphony No. 9 was premiered, and had to be turned around to see the standing ovation he could not hear.
