Enter the World of the Digital, Lead Your Community to Creative Futures!

WHAT IS THIS?
A free, hands-on training day exploring digital technologies.
You’ll get to try basic digital tools to design something real.
All included: lunch and refreshments, equipment, and a travel incentive.
Caregivers are welcome to attend and spend the day exploring the Centre’s exhibitions.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Try different digital tools and see how these tools are used in real creative and commercial work.
Design your own project and start building a creative portfolio.
Enter the word of digital storytelling and design skills using free, easy tools.
Learn how to stay safe, think critically, and lead others online.
Be the first members of a young creative community to stay connected and keep learning.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
Young people aged 10–16 who live in Tendring.
No experience or equipment needed.

WHEN & WHERE?
Saturday 12 September 2026, 10:00–16:00
Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre (Room 5)

HOW TO APPLY?

You can apply through our online Application Form.

Alden & Patterson come to Harwich Arts & Heritage Centre this October.

Christina Alden & Alex Patterson are acclaimed multi-instrumentalists and songwriters from Norwich, known for their beautiful harmonies, accomplished musicianship and songs inspired by the natural world.

Get Creative and Discover Harwich's Story

Young people are invited to take part in two exciting workshops at Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre on 18 August and 20 August. These free and interactive sessions will help participants develop ideas for their competition entries by exploring Harwich's rich history, learning about heraldry, and creating designs inspired by the town's unique heritage.

As part of the competition, the winning design will be brought to life and displayed outside Harwich Library, creating a lasting community landmark inspired by local young people.

Activities include:

A fun history scavenger hunt and heraldry challenge.
Creative brainstorming around Harwich's past, present, and future.
Designing and sketching ideas with support from workshop facilitators.
Returning participants are encouraged to attend the second session, where they can receive further support to develop, refine, and finalise their designs.

🎶 **Harwich Singing for Lung Health – Free Weekly Group**

Harwich Singing for Lung Health is a completely free, safe and supportive group for people living with chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD.

Led by Ben Brown, each session uses singing, breathing and mindfulness exercises to help participants connect with others, manage their breathing and support their wellbeing. Free refreshments are also provided each week.
