On this sensational Sunday another big knitted background square in Fire Orange and here’s how my artwork project is going to tell a magical paganism of story of the whole North East human - sheep symbiotic timeline

* I’ve got 2 more squares to do in Earth and Belt of Venus colourways
* Next up is putting the squares into a framework where I can apply the jet black sacred animal symbols on and it’s probably going to be surface crocheted for a full abstract effect and to showcase different techniques

* The top new skein summarises all the colours and will probably be draped around the massive structure and framework

* A Halloween project has started already with the new bright pink skein which is a hint but won’t be showcased until it’s finished. I will be doing a similar technique for it but with poisonous/magic colours and very gothic structural work. It’s going to be pretty spooky but this is the first and last thing written about it so you have been warned 🤣

Do you have any questions about this piece? Do you have any pagan sacred animal suggestions to pair to each colourway yet? All yarns are by Flock and Skein because Chris stocks 100% U.K. wool, he’s so talented with colour and he is originally from Seaham, County Durham so this connection is perfect! The project contains a lot of Bluefaced Leicester, Masham and Teeswater. Shetland is a primitive breed from Scotland but it also shaped the North East too so that breed is included. It’s all 4ply yarn to give really tidy stitches and design detail.

Seriously guys…. This is just the start! 🤩🐑🇬🇧❤️

Absolutely nothing beats living off the land. Tonight it’s venison casserole for tea after a days graft. Can easily be repeated with lamb.

Global corporations influence otherwise and in my opinion synthetic ultra processed food and poly everything is extremely unhealthy and just well….. horrible.

I choose a natural lifestyle. It’s beautiful, delicious, warm and comfortable as one lives in natures cycle. It’s highlighted in Autumn with the change in seasons.

Wool is a lifestyle choice for health and well-being ❤️

OBSESSED WITH WATER……

But doesn’t like the rain 🤣🤣🤣 It’s a good job I understand sensory sensitivity and it is why I LOVE the border collie breed of dog.

Fern has pretended she doesn’t want the toilet all day and I’ve had numerous calls from a very worried young fan base about her getting blown away or stuck out in the rain 🤣

That said if the sheep were to work today forget about the named storm…… she’s ON IT 🤣 and she would do her own thing because she wouldn’t be able to hear me

What a sunrise this morning! The lightest sky blue combined with peach notes is my ultimate colour addiction. I wouldn’t wear the colours but they do provide my ultimate background colours for inspiration and thinking or even painted onto walls!

Can you help me find an off the shelf super soft to touch British Wool Bluefaced Leicester/Shetland jumper to wear that could compete in feel against imported lambswool or merino?

I really look forward to your suggestions for the British Wool retailer who has the one garment. If I can’t find one I will have to knit one up but I hope that I can save time and it will also immediately provide amazing showcasing opportunity for Great British knitwear.

Don’t forget I can actually wear, support and promote ALL British Wool breeds/types but I’m really now looking for this specific area in real British knitwear ❤️🐑🇬🇧

Consider the breed for spinning! This is my honest and humble opinion. Don’t forget I can wear and invest in all the coarser types and designs too and we must also remember that coarser garments were made to work in but there is a section I really want to highlight and address with honesty and positivity

This is my favourite yarn of all. It is pure Bluefaced Leicester/Shetland and I’m yet to find a commercially knitted British Wool garment off the shelf which carries this wearable feel. This piece as a garment would push British wool into a much larger shelf space in the shops that also sell merino, imported lambswool and cashmere

If you know of any commercial garments with this softness drop them in the comments and direct me. I also hope this post helps the spinners and handknitters who really want to achieve the full showcasing potential for U.K. wool as a modern day fashion item where in order to achieve it, it has to be soft to touch
