Ad Hoc

Ad Hoc Amateur Drama in Harrold, Odell and Carlton Ad Hoc has presented one or two plays each year since then, and has built a loyal local audience.

History
The group was formed in 1992 and put on its first productions, ‘Drinking Companions’ and ‘Between Mouthfuls’ by Alan Ayckbourn in the Harrold Centre in March 1993. The group has become an integral part of the local village communities. Our plays
Plays that have been staged include the normal range that might be expected of an amateur dramatic group, by writers such as Michael Frayn, Noel C

oward, Richard Harris and Ira Levin, and the Harrold Centre has become the regular venue for Ad Hoc’s productions. Despite the restrictions and difficulties of working in such an old and small building, the group’s ambitions have not been stifled. Productions with larger casts and difficult sets have included ‘Whose Life is it Anyway’ by Brian Clarke, ‘The Love of Four Colonels’ by Peter Ustinov, and ‘A Man for All Seasons’ by Robert Bolt. Other activities and social events
In addition to full length plays, Ad Hoc has always been involved with organising and supporting less formal and more inclusive events such as Poems and Pints Evenings and Murder Mystery Evenings, as well as running an active social calendar with theatre visits, play readings, and an annual BBQ. The group has also staged village pantomimes in the Harrold URC Chapel, with the proceeds donated to local charities. Join us
