🌊💡 IT’S HERE! Our PAR Meter Is Ready to Rent! 🪸🐠

As promised since we first opened, we’ve now got our ParWise Pro PAR Meter available to rent out to you guys! 🙌

We know how important it is to give your corals the best possible environment to grow and thrive, and that’s why we wanted to make this available to our customers.

🪸 So, why does PAR matter?

PAR stands for Photosynthetically Active Radiation — essentially, the light that corals’ symbiotic algae use for photosynthesis. This process helps provide corals with much of the energy they need to grow, develop their colour and stay healthy.

💡 Why should you test your PAR levels?
✅ Make sure your corals are receiving the right amount of light for their needs.
✅ Avoid running your lights too high or too low.
✅ Find the best placement for different coral species in your tank.
✅ Check how effective your lighting setup really is.
✅ Measure light levels at different depths and locations throughout your aquarium.

Remember, more light doesn’t always mean better growth! Different corals have different lighting requirements, and too much light can cause stress and bleaching, while too little can limit growth and health.

Rather than guessing, you can now measure your PAR levels and make informed decisions about your lighting! 📊

🐟 TMC UPDATE! A LITTLE CHANGE THIS WEEK! 🐟

Many of you have noticed we haven’t been to Tropical Marine Centre on our usual day this week! Even Ethan was ringing TMC to let them know he was still alive! 😂🤣

We’ve been busy making changes and evolving in the shop, with lots of exciting new things coming in time for the weekend! 👀🔥

Because of this, our usual TMC trip has been pushed back to THURSDAY — THAT’S RIGHT, LATE NIGHT! 🎉

This means Ethan will be on the clock from 5am until 8pm… it’s going to be a LONG day! 💪😂

So, you’ve got plenty of time to get those fish wish lists ready! 🐠📝 Send us what you’re looking for, and Ethan will see what he can find and bring back this week!

✨ WHAT A WEEKEND! ✨

What a wonderful weekend it’s been! 🥹❤️ So many new faces, lovely positive comments, and plenty of laughs shared along the way. Weekends like this never fail to remind us exactly why we built the shop we built, and we honestly couldn’t be more grateful.

A huge thank you to everyone for your patience this weekend. We know some of our wait times were a little longer than usual, and we really appreciate you bearing with us! ❤️ Rest assured, we’ve got this covered for next weekend 🫢😉

For now, it’s back to the day-to-day jobs, restocking, resetting… and, of course, SO. MUCH. CLEANING! 🧹😂 Getting everything ready so we can do it all over again next weekend!

But seriously, from the absolute bottom of our hearts, thank you to each and every one of you for your continued support. Whether you’re a familiar face or someone who’s just discovered us, it means more than you’ll ever know. 🫶

You make all the hard work worth it, and we’re so lucky to have such a lovely community behind us. ❤️

Cichlids make the best parents 🤩

Look how fiercely this female Golden Dwarf Cichlid is defending her baby against the intruder (Ali's camera!).

Her jerky movements are meant to intimidate, and scooting off to the side is a distraction technique to draw the attention of a predator towards her, instead of the 2 week old fry 🤗.

She's in one of the tanks in the freshwater room if anyone wants to visit and see her excellent parenting skills in action 🤩
