New for 2026, we've teamed up with Young Farmers to celebrate the remarkable efforts of individuals who go the extra mile to serve their community.

The Best Young Farmer Award is open specifically to Intermediate and Senior members of Young Farmers Clubs in Yorkshire, aged 17-28.

Do you know an unsung hero who deserves this special recognition?

Nominations are being accepted until Tuesday 30 June.

Finalists will be invited to the Great Yorkshire Show on Friday 17 July when the winner will be revealed - with a £250 prize fund up for grabs for the individual who impresses our judges the most.

The Award has been introduced by show organisers, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society in collaboration with the Yorkshire Young Farmers, with the support of a generous donation by Baroness Anne McIntosh of Pickering.

Sneak peek of a brand new addition 🎉

We are excited to add Carolyn Mendelsohn's truly inspiring Hardy and Free photography exhibition to the line up at this year's Great Yorkshire Show.

Capturing Yorkshire women in the rural landscape, Hardy and Free explores the relationship between 12 contemporary women and the natural world.

Originally commissioned by the Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth as part of its contemporary arts programme and then a new series of portraits was created for Bradford 2025, UK City of Culture - Hardy and Free will be on show in the building next to the Ariat GYS Stage from Wednesday to Friday.

Carolyn subjects include the Great Yorkshire Show Director and farmer Rachel Coates, as well as artists, swimmers, athletes, adventurers and activists, in their chosen natural locations.
