An exciting Sunday of music awaits!

At the 10am Parish Mass we have David Halls' (Director of Music Salisbury Cathedral) lovely Communion Service in D Minor, written whilst he was organ scholar at Saint Wilfrid Harrogate, alongside music by Herbert Howells, Ethel Smyth, Bob Chilcott and former Parish Organist, Tim Gray.

Then at 4pm, we join the choir of Harrogate Ladies' College in their school chapel for evensong, with some lovey music written specially for the occasion. The psalm (by our Director of Music, Anthony Gray) uses the two choirs in antiphonal style, with verses for full choir, and SSA unaccompanied verses. This is followed by Ed Jones' wonderful new arrangement of Dyson in C Minor. Originally written for unison voices, Ed has cleverly crafted an additional four parts (SATB) which, alongside the organ part, accompany the original melody line. This promises to be a lovely celebration of the end of their school year.

We are delighted to be welcoming Hannah Parry for the last of our 2023 series of Organ Recitals, entitled ‘In Expectation’. Hannah will be presenting a varied programme of music for Advent, as we wait expectantly for the coming of Christmas. Hannah splits her time between London and Steinfurt in Germany, so expect lots of Germanic colours and textures! Join us at 7:30pm for another splendid recital.
