Hertfordshire’s newest venue & community hub – The Eric Morecambe Centre – houses a state of the art 511 seat theatre, cafe/bar, two multi-purpose function rooms and a museum space showcasing the history of Harpenden and the surrounding towns We do not have automatic doors aside from the entrance. There is level access to the entrance of the EMC, this a gravelled path and slope. There are limited

blue badge holders parking at the venue. Please get in touch if you have queries regarding this. A limited number of wheelchair spaces are available in the Auditorium. Please email [email protected] if you require wheelchair accessible seats as these cannot be booked online. As with all concessionary tickets, proof of status will need to be shown by accompanying carers. Exceptions to this may be made at the discretion of the management at the time of booking. We're excited to be taking part in Herts Open Studios once again this year. Pop in to 'Venue 27' to see the work of Kat Hergott-Penter in our foyer area, available to view between 10am and 2pm Mon-Sat.

Kat's artworks have been displayed in London, Surrey and Nottingham galleries and have been acquired by collectors based in various countries including UK, France, Italy, and Malta.

Sam Phillips opened his Memphis Recording Service studio on January 3, 1950 at 706 Union Avenue, Memphis and in March 1951 Phillips used the proceeds of his hit, "Rocket 88", to fund the creation of Sun Records in February 1952.

Get ready for a rockin' night and revisit the studio and legendary label that brought you Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Rufus Thomas and scores more rockin' pioneers, as you head back to 50s Memphis.

👮An Evening with Ken Wharfe

Join former Scotland Yard Elite Royalty Protection Officer to Princess Diana, The Princes William and Harry and the Duke of Kent, Ken Wharfe for a fascinating account of his life and career working for the Royals.

The SAS trained officer was chosen to head up the security for the Queen’s grandchildren, heir apparent Prince William and Prince Henry who as children, affectionately called him ‘Uncle Ken’. A year later in 1987 he was appointed as Personal Protection Officer to the Princess of Wales.

In charge of the Princess’s around the clock security at home and abroad, in public and private, Ken Wharfe became a close friend and loyal confidant who shared her most private moments. Following her death he was appointed to oversee the internal security to Princess Diana’s funeral at Westminster Abbey, attended by over fifty heads of state.
