☀️ With temperatures rising, we're asking visitors to help us keep animals safe and comfortable in the heat.
If you're planning a visit to Pets Corner, please come early in the day and avoid the hottest afternoon hours where possible. Many of our animals will be keeping cool with extra shade, fresh water and species-appropriate cooling treats.
We're also asking dog owners to avoid visiting the park with their dogs during the midday heat. Pavements, paths and other surfaces can become hot enough to burn paws, and the risk of overheating increases significantly. Instead, opt for walks in the early morning or later in the evening when temperatures are lower.
At home, make sure pets have access to shade, plenty of fresh water and a cool place to rest. And don't forget our local wildlife – leaving out a shallow bowl of fresh water can make a real difference for birds, hedgehogs and other garden visitors.
From our animals to yours, stay cool and take care in the heat. 🐾💧
