Happy World Environment Day! 🌍

This years focus is climate change.

At Hamerton we have a mission to help our environment! How are we doing this?

With our wind turbines, 💨 generating power for ourselves, for the grid and to store power incase of power shortages! Solar power! 🌞 Two areas of the zoo are dedicated to solar panels, also generating energy! Biomass boilers to heat our animal houses! 🚗 Electric vehicles! ♻️ Our recycling initiative! Ten tonnes each year of our waste is recycled, the profits of which go right back into conservation projects! Finally, 100% of our animal waste and food waste is also recycled.

We are proud to be helping our environment and to be battling climate change! 💪

Just before half term our female Malayan Tiger Sahaja had a visit from our amazing vets elliott_zoo_vet from the International Zoo Vet Group and our resident Vet Helen.

She had a full heath check and X-rays which thankfully revealed nothing bad, passing her health check! 🐯

She made a full recovery after a good nights rest. 🥰 Check out our video of how it all happened!
