Is your boat ready for winter?

As the sailing season draws to a close, now is the ideal time to protect your yacht from the colder months ahead.

Yacht winterisation can help prevent weather damage and corrosion, protect interiors from mould and mildew, and make getting back on the water in spring straightforward.

So, if winterising your boat is still on your to-do list, ask us about our winterisation packages – our expert teams will help keep your vessel protected and in top condition throughout the winter.

Following a major refit with us here at Ancasta Yacht Services, this Oyster 62, Pearlfisher, will be co-skippered by Tom Cload from Advanced Rigging + Hydraulics for the ARC 2026.

Tom will also provide invaluable rigging support for crews in Las Palmas ahead of this iconic trans-Atlantic cruising rally setting off in November.

We're taking our support for the bluewater sailing community further this autumn as General Manager Tom Cload joins the 2026 ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers).

As part of our partnership with World Cruising Club, Tom will head to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ahead of the rally to provide specialist rigging advice and technical support, including two seminars covering pre-departure checks and rigging considerations during an Atlantic crossing.

He’ll then swap shoreside support for life at sea, joining client Donald Kingsnorth and the crew of his Oyster 62, Pearlfisher, as co-skipper for the 2,700NM passage to Saint Lucia.

Following a major refit with us and Ancasta Yacht Services, Tom’s detailed knowledge of Pearlfisher and her systems will be invaluable for the voyage – while giving him the opportunity to put his own offshore experience to the test on his first Atlantic crossing.

Donald comments: “I’m really thrilled that Tom has agreed to join us as co-skipper on this adventure across the Atlantic. Over the last couple of years, he’s become a good and trusted friend, and his experience and detailed knowledge of the boat will be invaluable. He’s worked closely with me to achieve this major refit which I could not have done without his and AR&H’s sound advice and attention to detail."

This brand new Protector Targa 410 Expedition is currently undergoing commissioning and final fit-out in our undercover sheds in Hamble, including a full antifoul application.

Following meticulous preparation and masking, the antifoul coating was applied using an airless spray system to achieve an even finish across the hull and transom.

Working in a controlled undercover environment allows us to carefully manage dust and overspray, helping ensure a clean, high-quality finish throughout.

The vessel is now fully protected against marine growth and one step closer to being ready for service.

For professional antifouling and marine finishing services, please get in touch with our team to discuss your vessel.

A teak deck is more than just a beautiful finish – it provides excellent grip, natural insulation and a long-lasting resilient surface.

Yet over time, the caulking between the planks can deteriorate, allowing moisture to pe*****te and potentially leading to more serious deck issues.

We spoke to our experienced in-house boat builder, Adam Symes, about why timely re-caulking matters and how proper maintenance can help protect your teak deck for years to come.

Take the stress out of docking.

Tight berths, crosswinds and strong currents can make close-quarters manoeuvring challenging, even for experienced skippers.

Bow and stern thrusters give you greater control at low speeds, helping you position your yacht with more confidence and precision.

Our expert engineers supply and install a wide range of thruster systems and can advise on the right solution for your yacht.
