The Backstage Blanket is officially underway! 🎤🧺

For our very first interview, Lydia sat down with Greg Boardman from the English Chamber Orchestra ahead of their Proms at the Lake performance on Saturday 15th August.

So, what can audiences expect? 🎻✨

An exciting programme packed with incredible music, showcasing everything the orchestra can do whilst bringing plenty of familiar favourites that everyone will recognise and enjoy. The performance will also feature a spectacular finale with Halifax Choral Society, as well as a special collaboration with Northern Ballet, bringing a piece of ballet to the stunning lakeside stage at Shibden Park.

While many major orchestral events take place in London, the English Chamber Orchestra is proud to bring a world-class English ensemble right to the heart of Calderdale for Stage at the Lake.

MEET THE SEEDS OF HOPE TEAM! 🌿

Introducing St Augustine’s Centre…

Based in Park Ward, Halifax, St Augustine’s Centre supports people seeking sanctuary across Calderdale, with community, wellbeing and connection at the heart of everything they do.

Their garden is a much-loved safe haven cared for by gardener Lisa and a dedicated team of volunteers made up of local residents and Centre Members from around the world.

Together, they have created a space where people can reconnect with nature, find peace, and build friendships through a shared love of gardening 💚

For Seeds of Hope, the team will create a garden inspired by the themes of journey, safety, belonging and community - bringing together the energy, creativity and experiences of the people who make St Augustine’s such a special place.

We can’t wait to see their beautiful and meaningful garden come to life at Stage at the Lake Festival 🌱
