iver!, Stephen Jamieson (playing Fagin at the time) came across the kids in his gang upset that the show was over and that there was no reason for them to stay together. Stephen got together with George Mitchell to produce a Christmas concert for the seniors’ society. Following that the Juniors performed their first show together — Hip Hip Horatio — with most of the kids from the Oliver! Since then HLOS Juniors have performed an amazing musical almost every year, as well as numerous smaller concerts and collaborations with the seniors’ society. Join Us...

🎭✨ We’re counting down to Workshop Day 2 of The Spotlight Series! ✨🎭

After an incredible first workshop, we can’t wait to welcome our young performers back this Sunday for Behind the Scenes – Makeup to Script! 🌟

This exciting day will give our Juniors the chance to explore the creative side of theatre, learning how characters are brought to life both on and off the stage.

🎨 In the morning, industry professional Samantha Helen will lead a hands-on theatrical makeup workshop, where children will discover how makeup can transform performers into unforgettable characters.

📖 In the afternoon, Sam Milnes will guide our young performers through script work, character development, and audition techniques, helping them build confidence and gain valuable skills for future productions and auditions.

This workshop is all about creativity, storytelling, and developing the skills that help performers shine both in rehearsals and on stage. ⭐

We’re so excited to see what our talented Juniors create and can’t wait for another fantastic day of learning, laughter and theatre magic!

🌟 What a fantastic start to Round 2 of The Spotlight Series! 🌟

Today was everything we hoped it would be and more! 🎭✨

We were delighted to welcome so many talented young performers, including lots of new faces, and it was wonderful to see our existing members making everyone feel so welcome from the moment they arrived ❤️

The day began with an energetic Mamma Mia! workshop led by former West End performer Chloe-Jo Byrnes, where the children threw themselves into the choreography, songs and storytelling with enthusiasm and confidence!

That energy carried right through to the afternoon’s Stage Combat workshop, where the children learned how to create safe and realistic fight scenes for the stage ⚔️ The creativity, focus and teamwork on display was incredible and the fight scenes they choreographed themselves were genuinely impressive 😱

Most of all, we are so proud of how engaged, well-behaved and supportive every single child was throughout the day 🌟

A huge thank you to Chloe-Jo and Rebecca for sharing their expertise and inspiring our Juniors.

Now we can’t wait for Workshop Day 2: Behind the Scenes – Makeup to Script next Sunday! 🎭🎨📖

📸 Here’s just a small glimpse of an unforgettable day…
