The Halifax Dance Academy

Founded in Halifax, babyballet® celebrates it's 10th birthday in 2015 and we decided the time was right for a re-launch. Since the Academy was opened in 2005, the age range and variety of classes has expanded considerably and is now home to lots of different groups, not just babyballet. We are very excited about the relaunch. Each group e.g. babyballet, The Barbara Peter

s School of Dance and Breakboys will keep their own identity but they will now come under the umbrella name of the 'HALIFAX DANCE ACADEMY'. Still based at Greenwoods Mills, 25, Square Road, Halifax, The Halifax Dance Academy will be home to babyballet, Halifax; The Barbara Peters School of Dance; Breakboys – a break/street group for boys; Messy Prints art class; Fusion Impact, yoga, baby massage and The Baby Cafe, the breast feeding support group. An extensive timetable will have classes for babies from 6 months to pension age, as a hobby or for those wishing to pursue a career in dance. Along with the new name, the premises are being refurbished, and the existing cafe will be renamed 'Twinkle and Teddy’s Tearoom'. Twinkle and Teddy are our cute and cuddly babyballet bears who perform all over the country at shows and events. The Sound of Music is back, and all’s right with the world!

We would like to invite all budding musical theatre actors/singers/dancers to join us for this year’s production, The Sound of Music.

If you are aged between 8-21 and have a love for the performing arts, then join us for our launch night on Thursday 20 January at 6.00pm at Reinwood Infant and Nursery School.

You’ll meet the team behind this year’s production.

You’ll hear all about our expectations, the process and safeguarding policies.

You’ll find out how to audition, what will be required and what to do next.

It’s been such an exciting time from Christmas shows and parties followed by the wedding, Christmas and new year!

Can’t wait to see you all back from tomorrow... I think my feet are finally coming back down to earth.

Thank you so much for all your lovely messages, cards and presents.
Also would like to take this chance to thank students who took part in the choir for the wedding at church along with Beth and Tillie.
In the evening it was lovely having seniors get back together from uni for a final surprise flash mob performance.

Lots to look forward to from now till summer so here’s to a wonderful 2022!

🎭 Exciting Opportunity 🎭

We are absolutely thrilled with our cast for Oliver! And cannot wait to start rehearsals on Monday.

However, we are now ready to announce a further, exciting opportunity for ten children aged 8-11.

We are looking for talented singers and dancers to join the orphans and Fagin’s gang. Whilst we would love to hold face to face auditions, we have decided that for this year, for these roles we would like video submissions.
