These pages will no longer be actively updated, but they will stay live as a record of performances, events, and memories for members to look back on.

I created and managed the choir’s online presence to help raise its profile, grow membership, and celebrate its achievements over the last couple of years. Following my decision to step down just before Christmas, I feel it’s the right time to close this chapter as I move forward with other projects and wish the choir a successful future.

Any future communication regarding this choir should be directed to the email address shared in earlier posts as messages to this account will not be monitored.

Thank you to those who have been part of the journey with me and contributed to so many wonderful moments captured here.

🌺 Remembrance Service at Halifax Minster 🌺

We’d love to welcome everyone from across Calderdale to join us at Halifax Minster on Friday 7th November at 7.30pm for the Service of Remembrance. It’s always such an honour for us to sing at this moving event, as our community comes together to remember those who gave so much in the name of freedom and peace.

Our programme of music this year reflects on the courage and sacrifice of those servicemen and women — and reminds us how vital it is to stand together as one human family. This is a time for all of us, from every background and walk of life, to unite in compassion, care, and shared hope for a peaceful future.

Let’s remember, reflect, and recommit ourselves to kindness and understanding. 💖

A Joyous Summer Debut at Bailiff Bridge!

Last night marked a truly special occasion – our very first performance of the summer, and the debut of our brand new programme, Our Beautiful World. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting than the stunning Bailiff Bridge Community Centre, where warm hospitality and a sense of purpose filled the air.

The event, held in celebration of Yorkshire Day, gave us the opportunity to sprinkle in a few affectionate nods to God’s Own County – always a pleasure and a privilege! With the room full of proud Yorkshire spirit and generous hearts, the evening had a magic all of its own.

Organised by the brilliant Caroline Pell, the event was a fundraiser in support of Overgate Hospice and their inspiring Big Build project. It was both humbling and uplifting to hear about the progress being made, and we were thrilled to learn that last night’s music and supper evening raised over £700 for the cause. What an incredible achievement!

A huge well done to Caroline and the whole team who made the evening such a success. It was an honour to sing for you and to play a small part in supporting such vital work. Thank you for having us – we’re already looking forward to next Friday’s concert!

🎶 A huge thank you to the *Clifton Village Festival* for having us! 🎶

We had such a lovely time singing at this fantastic community event — especially as we rehearse weekly right here in Clifton, it felt extra special to be part of the celebrations. 💛

It was a great opportunity to try out some new material in front of a brilliant audience (thank you for the warm reception!) as we gear up for our **Summer Concert on 8th August** — save the date! 🌞🎤

The festival runs all weekend with live music, BBQ, bar, stalls and games — don't miss it if you're local!

🎉 What an AMAZING Day! 🎉

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who made our fundraising event a HUGE success! Thanks to the hard work of our wonderful Yorkshire Songbirds ladies choir members, we raised over £500 in our Jigsaw and Book Sale with Tombola – complete with scrumptious coffee and cake to keep us all going! 🍰📚🧩

A huge shout-out to the brilliant ladies who organised the event – your dedication made this day one to remember. You not only put together a fantastic event, but you also brought the community together for a wonderful cause. 👏👏

To everyone who donated books, puzzles, and those divine homemade treats – we can't thank you enough. From the bottom of our hearts, your generosity is what made this event possible. And of course, the tea and coffee servers who kept us all refreshed – you were the real MVPs! ☕💖

All the funds raised will go directly to supporting the ongoing running of our choir, helping us purchase new music so we can keep bringing joy and entertainment to our audiences. 🎶🎤

Once again, THANK YOU to everyone who made this event so special! Here’s to more music, more fun, and more community spirit. We couldn't do it without you! 💃💕
