INK Theatre

INK Theatre INK champions new writing, original stories and emerging voices year-round, creating space for unknown writers to be seen alongside established talent.

INK Festival is where it all comes together. INK – THE SHORT NEW PLAY COMPANY

INK is an East Anglian based Theatre Company and registered charity, that sources, develops, and produces, the best short new plays for stage and radio by writers from East Anglia, and beyond. In 6 years, we have produced around 200 new plays. INK champions the short play, we passionately believe that the short play is

not simply a highly potent art form, but a terrific medium to attract new talent and audiences to theatre. The INK Festival is our headline event. Held every April at The Cut, Halesworth, in Suffolk we showcase over 40 brand new short plays, staged and performed by professional actors and directors. The Festival also features performance poetry, curated by one of our patrons, Luke Wright, talks and workshops by prominent writers and theatre practitioners, stand-up comedy, and activities for young people. INK on the Road takes a selection of plays directly from the Festival to rural venues in East Anglia. Plays have also transferred to venues across the UK including London’s West End.

***** A really satisfying evening of entertaining and thought provoking theatre.***** A real triumph ***** INK explodes with creativity on to the London stage…welcome to the resurgence of the one-act play! For 2021 INK will tour to 13 venues across East Anglia and with a newly commissioned play, No Ordinary Joe; No Ordinary Kennedy, to aircraft and war museums. INK in the Community focuses on helping aspiring writers, whatever their age, experience and background to give them the opportunities to work with professional practitioners to hone their skills.Throughout the year INK offers a programme of workshops, talks and mentoring to aspiring writers and actors including:

We’re delighted to celebrate a major milestone for Felix Mosse, co-founder and co-head of the Criterion New Writing Programme, on the publication of his debut fantasy novel, The Mistral.

Known to many of our writers as a passionate mentor and advocate for exceptional storytelling, Felix has helped shape a programme that has supported more than 150 writers, with former participants going on to create work for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and theatre productions across the UK.

Alongside championing the next generation of writers from the stage of the Criterion Theatre, Felix has now brought his own epic story to life. The Mistral is a sweeping fantasy novel already earning praise from readers for its depth, imagination and adventure.

Congratulations, Felix, on this wonderful achievement.
