My very first cake smash session is such a good reminder of how far I've come. I often look back at my old work, not to boast about how much I've improved, but to remember the girl who started back there.

The mom who was newly postpartum, just coming to terms with being a mom and looking after her own child (probably while living in her favorite dressing gown!), whilst opening her home and going to others' homes to photograph their moments.

Things definitely didn't go to plan during this first session, or most sessions that year, but looking at these re-edits from a few years back shows me how much my work has grown since day one.

These photos were taken back in 2023, and 3 years on, I'm still learning every single day! My first year was hard, but it was also one that I'm most thankful for. ✨

Trust the process and the evolution. Looking back at my first-ever cake smash, as you can see, my initial edits were very rough and a little rushed since I'd only given myself 2 weeks to edit while being just 5 months postpartum 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Things didn't go as planned, but I re-edited these a few years back and now I truly know my craft. It's always great to see how far you've come! 📸🎂

This was actually my FIRST-ever cake smash, and let's just say it didn't go exactly as planned. In fact, things went so sideways that I actually had little man back for a SECOND smash!

But it's always good to see where you've came from, and I even re-edited these photos a few years back. 🤍
