A busy meeting today! I provided a workshop on Fabulous Funky Foam Fish, using funky foam, split pins and stitching. Belinda brought her finished exploding books to show us and l brought some of the finished "Songbirds in Stitch" pieces which will be donated to the Winnie Mabaso Foundation in South Africa.

It was lovely to welcome so many ladies to our monthly meeting yesterday! TC member Sheila Conchie showed us how to make explosion books...fabulous! We also collected some more birds for our Songbirds Project which will be going to the Winnie Mabaso Foundation in South Africa.

Textile Connections' exhibition "Stitchworks" is currently on show at Coworkers in Whaley Bridge. We had a lovely "Open Event" today and welcomed TC members and visitors. We hope that you get the chance to visit!

Textile Connections has an exhibition, "Stitchworks," at Coworkers, 8 Old Road, Whaley Bridge SK237HR.
Opening hours are featured on the posters below, as is an Open Event on 4th April.

A fascinating talk today by TC member Valerie Grant on "Embroidery Threads," looking at the science behind the genetic make up of cotton, linen, wool and silk, followed by some stunning examples of Valerie's Elizabethan embroidery work. Truly inspirational!

We had a great workshop yesterday, continuing our stitched birds which will be going to the Winnie Mabaso Foundation in South Africa.

I ran a workshop for members of Textile Connections at our February meeting. We are stitching songbirds for a wall hanging which will be donated to the Winnie Mabaso Foundation in South Africa.

Textile Connections held their Annual Review today. Members brought along some beautifully stitched Peace Doves for the Members' Challenge, and also pieces produced on City and Guilds courses. We looked back on a busy year, and forwards to some exciting opportunities in 2026.
