Starting off the week with chaos, content and naturally a Tiger Shark! 🦈

This mini original was a quick (ish) paint to end a lovely weekend.

Tiger sharks are easily recognisable for their striped appearance and large size with an average size of 3-4 plus metres.

Would you love to see one of these impressive creatures in the wild?

1. Hammerheads sharks aren't a single species of shark, there are actually 10 different species!

2. Along with other species of sharks, they have a group of organs called Ampullae of Lorenzini. These are used to detect electrical currents from prey.

3. The largest documented hammerhead shark was that of a Great Hammerhead reaching a length of over 6 metres!

4. Hammerhead sharks live on average around 20-30 years (the smaller of those around 10-20 years).

5. The majority of all listed species of Hammerhead shark are listed as either critically endangered, endangered or vulnerable .

Honest confession incoming...

Back in early June I wanted to start a new pride painting and I actually got round to it.

I started painting and it felt so good and wholesome creating something for an incredible group of people but then I reached the feet of the penguin and choked.

I had art block for penguin feet.
I couldn't continue this special painting until I was ready and started other projects whilst feeling guilty that June & July were nearly over and I hadn't gone back to it having totally missed PRIDE month.

Then this weekend out of nowhere I briefly considered scrapping the whole painting and starting again when I DID IT!

I threw together a background last night and wanted to share it with you without further delay.

This little A6 original painiting is now ready for a new home and when it goes I'll be a little sad to say goodbye.

To celebrate Shark awareness day yesterday, here are five different sharks that I’ve created.

Overtime sharks have been villainised in film and media and portrayed as a creature we should all fear, BUT the truth is that we should be grateful for them.

These misunderstood creatures are vital to maintaining healthy and balanced ecosystems within our oceans by helping to keep populations in check and removing sick or weaker animals.

With over 400 different species of shark there are many more for me to paint and learn so much more about!

Today was my most successful market to date and I said goodbye (sniff 🥲) to 10 original paintings, each one heading to a lovely home.
