Did your mum ever tell you not to pick a loose thread on your jumper when you were little? Because she knew that the whole thing would disintegrate into shreds? Well, that’s exactly what we do – we pull that thread that shouldn’t be touched, until everything falls apart. interTWINE do not shy away. We pull at the loose threads we encounter in daily life. We want to see the tapestry unravel to reve
al its essence; to reveal a conversation; to reveal hidden stories. We find the tension between two ends of a piece of string before it breaks. That is where we believe great theatre is found. interTWINE was formed in late 2014 by a group of Final Year Theatre and Performance Students at the University of Surrey. The company, created within the degree programme, has a desire to take their work beyond the academic parameters of university, and subsequently strive to reach as many people as they can. Their varied range of experience brings different skills to the collaboration, culminating in a rich and colourful pastiche; movement, music, creative writing, clowning, improvisation, and spoken word all play a part in their self-directed work.
