Ochre Print Studio is the largest Open Access studio based in South East England and supports artists of all abilities and the local community through the provision of specialist printmaking facilities and a highly valued programme of related courses, talks and exhibitions. Ochre Print Studio’s work is underpinned by its steadfast commitment to inclusivity, as reflected in its unique location at L

ockwood Centre, one of Surrey Choices’ day centres for adults with learning difficulties and its provision of a safe, welcoming and generative atmosphere enabling artists at all stages of their careers and of all abilities to thrive and develop their practice. Ochre is an artists’ led organisation managed by a core group of professional artists, with all profits reinvested for the benefit and service of the membership and local community and provides a significant art and education resource in Surrey and the bordering counties. This creative printmaking studio continues to grow under the management and direction of Annee Robson, an exhibiting artist and experienced printmaker and David Sanders, who has more than forty years experience in business to business communications and studied printing and typography at Camberwell. While David concentrates on the practical side of running a studio and developing the facilities offered to members and those wishing to learn about printmaking, Annee and her team of tutors teach printmaking skills to a broad range of artists including beginners, experienced artists/printmakers and adults with learning difficulties. We are currently overseeing the installation of new etching and digital facilities at the studio. This Arts Council England (ACE) funded project is being managed by Anne Jenkins MA CA, as part of the funding application and we hope for great things in 2017, with the prospect of offering the expanded range of facilities and courses to artists in Surrey and beyond!

Come and discover a diverse collection of contemporary prints, celebrating the creativity, experimentation and imagination of Ochre’s printmaking community.

👉Our studio is equipped with:
• Four etching presses (A5–A1) and a Columbian Press • A0+ screenprinting vacuum beds • A0+ flatbed exposure unit • Safe etching facilities • Wet room and dark room • Large communal worktables • Viscosity rollers, print racks, light boxes, cutting mats, extensive ink mixing areas, and much more.

👉Who can apply?
This offer is suitable for printmakers who: • are over 18 • can work independently • have previous printmaking experience (ideally through an Ochre course or equivalent)
If you’d like a refresher before working independently, one of our experienced members can provide a 2-hour session (£60).
Places are limited.

What a wonderful weekend of Anthotype Printing with Ana Solo 🌿💛 Ana Solo

Such a beautiful workshop, with fantastic results! We loved exploring this delicate and sustainable photographic process, using natural photosensitive pigments from everyday plants.

The yellow prints were made from sunflower, while the beautiful purple tones came from boiled red cabbage — all from natural plant pigments. 🌻💜

A huge thank you to our wonderful tutor Ana Solo for sharing her knowledge, enthusiasm and creativity, and to everyone who joined us for such a lovely weekend.

✨ Day 5 – Final day of our Intaglio Summer School with Mai Mai Osawa 大澤麻衣 at Ochre Ochre Print Studio ✨

What a wonderful way to finish the week. It’s been fantastic to see such a dedicated group of attendees create these beautiful prints and develop their intaglio skills over the course.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and brought such enthusiasm, curiosity, and creativity to the studio. It’s been a pleasure sharing the week with you.

👉🌟Day 3 & 4 of Intaglio Summer School with Mai Osawa 大澤麻衣 at Ochre Print Studio.

What a fantastic couple of days! Participants have been exploring a range of intaglio techniques, from etching on copper and aquatint to coffee lift, with some incredible results. The studio has been buzzing with creativity, and so many beautiful prints have come off the press.

We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings as we head into the final day of Intaglio Summer School at Ochre.

✨ Wonderful results from our recent Collagraph Workshop with Vicky Oldfield RBA Artist Printmaker at Ochre Print Studio

We’re delighted to share some of the fantastic collagraph prints created during last weekend’s workshop with Vicky. It was inspiring to see everyone experimenting with texture, layering and mark-making, with each participant producing beautifully individual prints.

A huge thank you to Vicky for leading such an inspiring and enjoyable course, and to all our wonderful participants for bringing so much creativity, enthusiasm and curiosity to the studio.
We love seeing the variety of approaches and the unique outcomes that emerge from every workshop.
