Fuse’s Level Design Director, Adam Stone, discusses the challenges of designing tracks for Jakku’s iconic landscape:

“Jakku's scarred planet instantly places Galactic Racer in the New Republic Era. A number of Imperial Star Destroyers ended their days on the surface of Jakku, and as one of the most identifiably Star Wars designs, their iconic shape and scale are a fundamental ingredient for our Jakku tracks. To enhance impact, smaller human-scale details are essential, such as destroyed starfighters. While the wrecks provide great authentic landmarking and breathtaking compositional moments, it was crucial that players could drive on and through the ships to create intense and memorable player experiences.”

It’s official: STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™ has gone gold. 🏆

For a small UK studio, this is the stuff of dreams. Hundreds of builds and a whole lot of heart have brought us to this moment: bringing high-speed STAR WARS™ racing back to players everywhere, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and published by Secret Mode.
