Grimsby Folk Club The Club meets at 8pm on Sunday evenings from September to July and hosts a wide variety of guests.

Established for over 50 years, a friendly folk club meeting on Sunday nights with talented floor singers and regular outstanding guest nights. The Club meets at 8pm on Sunday evenings from September to July.

Mike and Damien have a rich shared repertoire of traditional songs plus the work of modern folk writers such as Bellamy, Ewan MacColl and Mike Waterson.
Mike Wilson is the youngest member of the inimitable Wilson Family and Damien is well known for the Demon Barber's Roadshow. He is a stylish and distinctive singer, be it unaccompanied or alongside his guitar or concertina.

Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman have long established themselves as one of British folk music's most rewardingly enduring partnerships. The Dartmoor-based husband and wife have twice won the coveted 'Best Duo' title at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, as well as 'Best Duo' at the Folking.com awards and Spiral Earth awards. They consistently deliver assured, distinctive performances whether live or recorded. In three decades of performance they have never been trapped in a groove - always bold and innovative, mixing traditional song arrangements with their self-penned material which reels from the bitter to the sweet, the wry to the sad, the political to the passive.

Ian and Michelle Wright, otherwise known as Homity, gave us a lovely evening on Sunday, performing some of their own wonderful songs along with songs both old and new. They often join us on our zoom nights but it was great to hear them live once more as they used to be regulars at the club before moving to Suffolk.
Arthur Knevitt started the evening with an interesting set of songs and we also had a welcome visit from Ivor Pickard from Louth who started the second half.
Our next guest night is on the 28th June when we have Mike Wilson and Damien Barber.

Ian & Michelle were resident singers at the club for several years until they moved back to Suffolk but we often still see them on our Room & Zoom evenings. Tonight, here at the Spiders Web, you will have chance to enjoy their gentle sound, with lovely harmonies and accompanied on guitar and whistle. They sing traditional & contemporary material and Michelle is a fine songwriter having won the Write a Lincolnshire Song Competition on more than one occasion.

Thank you to Stephen and Pernille, the Quiggs, for giving us a very entertaining evening on Sunday. This talented duo performed a varied selection of songs including some written and sung beautifully by Pernille, and interspersed with some Scottish and Danish anecdotes. With Stephen's witty banter, it was an enjoyable evening all round, with Paul Bellamy and Lynn Haynes starting the evening and Arthur Knevitt opening the second half.
The club will be closed next Sunday for the Bank Holiday.

Organisers of the Irvine folk Club, this Danish/Scottish folk duo presents a unique tapestry of songs woven with a Celtic thread. Whether the material is traditional or contemporary the distinguishable mark of the Quiggs is the quality of the voices in harmony and the strength of the songs.
Steven was a member of the McCalmans and toured with the group all over Europe and it was from Denmark (Viking raids revisited) that he brought home his future wife and singer/songwriter Pernille.
