🧱✨ And that’s a wrap on Brick Futures ✨🧱
More than 100 children and young people came together to imagine the future of North East Lincolnshire through LEGO®, animation, sound, printmaking, ceramics and collaborative builds- and seeing all of that creativity brought together in the exhibition over the last month has been incredibly special.
What stayed with us most are the ideas young people shared so openly: hopes for greener futures, safer communities, kinder spaces, stronger connections and more opportunities to create, belong and be heard. Brick Futures reminded us just how thoughtful, imaginative and hopeful young people are when they’re given the space to express themselves.
A huge thank you to every child and young person who took part, built something, shared an idea, made a film, recorded a sound, asked a question or simply gave something new a try. You are the heart of this project.
Thank you as well to all the brilliant artists, facilitators and collaborators who helped bring the workshops to life and to Create NEL and Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre for believing in the project and supporting it from the beginning.
And finally, thank you to everyone who visited the exhibition, shared kind words, donated LEGO®, booked onto workshops, supported young people to attend, or helped spread the word. Community projects like this are only possible because people show up for them.
Brick Futures may have come to an end, but I really hope the ideas, confidence and creativity it sparked continue far beyond the gallery walls 💙
