instead of our usual weekly drama session, we were tasked to make a video about Flourish’s upcoming charity bike ride. hands down, the best thing we’ve ever produced in 90 minutes (and honestly maybe ever?) 🫡🤝🚴💥

for the past 2 years, Flourish have done an annual bike ride for local causes, including Humberston Hydrotherapy Pook and the We Are One foundation. this time, they’re increasing the target and hoping to raise money for Flourish, in order to get a new minibus 🚌

it would allow the group to travel all together, making trips and outings much more accessible. the team love getting out and about in the community, and a minibus would make it loads easier.

we’ve shared the gofundme in our bio - for now, please enjoy our very ridiculous charity single. as always, 90% of what you’re seeing came straight from the hilarious minds of Flourish. Peter Kay, eat your heart out x

a very happy birthday at Flourish 💛

since 2022, we’ve been visiting Flourish every week, first brought in to support the group to make a spoof rocky film 🥊 (ICONIC.)

we realised early on that as well as being a brilliant day service for adults with learning disabilities and differences, Flourish is a family. the minute you walk through the door, you’re greeted with a huge smile, a freshly brewed cuppa, and a weeks worth of catchings-up. Debbie’s saved us some lunch in case we’ve not had chance to eat, and Callum’s taken our temperature to check we’ve not got a fever. 🫡

the group laughs together, cries together, fiercely supports one another, and exemplifies collaborative working. teamwork truly DOES make the dream work at Flourish HQ, and everyone knows it.

it’s a huge privilege to work with Team Flourish, here’s to many more years!! thank you for always making our birthday very special. 💛🌞✨

JOY by name, and joy by nature 💛

over the past few months, we’ve been working in collaboration with the gorgeous Hubbub Theatre & SO Festival on a co-creation project with the wonderful folks at Skegness Day Services. it’s been one of our favourite bits of work to date, surrounded by a proper dream team.

today was the first performance of JOY, as part of the SO festival programme. a celebration of the Day Service, the magic that happens every day in their space, the community and staff, the ordinary and the extraordinary things that bring us joy.

you have one more chance to catch JOY tomorrow at 3PM in Skeg Tower Gardens Pavillion, as well as lots of other amazing performances and exhibits as part of SO fest. we would really, really love to see you there 💛

p.s we were busy rehearsing for the show so sadly missed the King in GY…buuuut we managed to catch him in skeggy instead 🫡✨

The Lady Who Came From The Sun 💛

last year, we were so fortunate to receive support from the incredible for an R&D project in partnership with wonderful local author Katie Hopper, to begin adapting one of her books into a family theatre piece.

Katie is a massive inspiration to us; her way of translating the big life stuff into children’s stories is a real gift to both young people and adults alike.

The Lady Who Came From The Sun was Katie’s first book, starting as her own way of navigating the big life stuff and becoming the first of many beautiful stories for children far + wide. illustrated by her daughter, the book explores grief in a gentle, celebratory way. it’s precious. when we first got the team together for a read through, many (happy) tears were shed 🫂

for the people we love and the people we’ve lost, we keep the light shining 💛 over the coming months, we’ll be continuing to translate this story into a theatre piece for local families. stay tuned! in the meantime, please check out Katie’s work >

had to get a piccy under the big sun before it goes! thanks for havin’ us 🌞🌞🌞
