🎨✂️ Everything is ready for tomorrow’s Matisse: Painting with Scissors workshop! 🌈✨

Colourful papers, paintbrushes and lots of creativity are waiting!

💡 Did you know? Later in life, Henri Matisse began creating incredible artworks by cutting shapes from brightly painted paper. He called this technique “drawing with scissors” — proving that you don't always need a paintbrush to make a masterpiece!

And that's exactly the kind of creativity we'll be exploring tomorrow! 🎨

Any last-minute artists who would love to join us are very welcome! 💛

📅 Monday 19th October
⏰ 2–4 pm
📍 Fort Matilda Bowling Club

💌 Just send me a wee message to book your place!

Can't wait for an afternoon full of colour, imagination and Matisse-inspired magic! ✨

Inspired by the wonderful world of Henri Matisse, children will discover how this famous artist used colour and cut-out shapes to create extraordinary works of art — before becoming little artists themselves!

The Power of Colour! 🎨🌈

What a wonderfully creative break-week class! Our young artists explored how colour can express feelings, create energy and bring people together through the work of three extraordinary artists.

🟠 Inspired by Kandinsky, we worked together on a vibrant communal painting.

🟣 While discovering Andy Warhol and his famous Factory, we experimented with bold block printing and repeated designs.

⭐ Finally, inspired by Henri Matisse, we explored colour composition and created spectacular giant paper stars!

A joyful session filled with teamwork, experimentation and fearless creativity. The results were bursting with colour! ✨

An extremely late post—but these wonderful creations are far too good not to share! 🇯🇵

For our Jōmon Japan lesson, the children explored one of Japan’s most fascinating ancient cultures. Using cardboard and a variety of natural textures, they created striking modern vase sculptures inspired by the bold forms and richly patterned surfaces of Jōmon pottery.🎎

We also experimented with printing techniques and designed paper lanterns filled with imaginative new patterns. ✨️

It was a brilliant session of texture, sculpture, pattern and discovery—all while learning about the extraordinary creativity of Jōmon culture! 🏺

Our second journey into Ancient China was packed with extraordinary art and history! 🏺✨

We encountered the remarkable Terracotta Army, explored the mysterious bronze ding vessels of ancient China, and admired the elegant colours and patterns of Ming pottery.

Our young artists transformed these fascinating discoveries into their own creative works—and the results were absolutely wonderful! 🐉🎨
