Hi all please take the time to view and share my new website on all your social media platforms. Send the link to all family and friends to help me promote the site. Very much appreciated. Thanks
I have now happily retired from the fire service and looking to launch a new career in art.
Over the years I have treated my art more like a hobby with a reasonable degree of success. Now, I want to have a more professional approach and make this a career, one I have loved ever since I could hold a pencil.
My first task was to create a professional and comprehensive website where I can, not only display my artwork but where customers can confidently purchase artwork, and feel safe in doing so.
You will find a members area where you can register, no need to buy, and create a profile. This will enable you to keep up to date with all new works as they come online.
Please feel free to leave a review on any works you may have purchased or like. This all helps build the community and make potential customers more confident in making future purchases.
You can find my new website at
www.anguspaton.art
I look forward to your input and hope to see a few new members on the site.
The website does display on a mobile phone but to get a better appreciation of the site it is better viewed on a computer or a tablet. The bigger screen makes your viewing experience all the better.
Please keep reviews and live chat input sensible. Thanks

Page six.

This is my current work in progress.

A graphite pencil sketch of Vermeer's Milkmaid.

Well I still have a possible 94 pages to fill if I use both sides, so requests considered.

Page five.

A very dear and close friend of mine. The late Jim Owens.

I served in the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service with Jim.

Jim was loved by everyone he encountered. A true friend in every sense of the word. He'll be truly missed but still lives on in our hearts.

Jim was also a fantastic artist.

Fourth page.

A pencil sketch of a painting by William A Bouguereau.

Bouguereau in my opinion is one of the best figure painters out there. Go check him out.

The title of this copy is The Little Shepherdess

Third page.

Oh by the way there are 50 pages.

I didn't like this pencil. I found it to be too waxy and it didn't lend itself to blending or allow you to erase anything. Probably won't use these pencils again. Lesson learnt.

Second page.

I tried a copy of a St Benedict cast.

I used graphite pencil but realized quite early on charcoal would have been a better choice to get the darker values.

I may try this again with charcoal near the end of the sketch book.

First page.

Pencil sketch using graphite pencil.

I watched a tutorial of a fantastic artist Cesar Santos. He used a photo of his friend and model to do the tutorial.

I referenced the same photo.

Started a sketch book for the first time ever.

My plan is to do at least one piece of art in it every week.

There will be a combination of drawings using various types of pencil, and oil paintings.

Requests taken.
