Announcing our final judge, Maedb Joy ❤️‍🔥

Maedb Joy is the founder of .events, a performing arts company platforming SWorker Artists across cabaret, theatre and nightlife, and the co-founder of Riot Party, a q***r s_x positive rave applying a socially engaged approach to q***r nightlife. Both events are operating in 3 cities, with regular large capacity sold out events + Sxq has recently been on tour across the UK. Maedb is responsible for curating multidisciplinary programming for both events including: full length shows, pop up performances, gogo dancing, workshops, talks and more. Alongside this she has curated cabaret line ups for: Mighty Hoopla, Ourgasm, Sounds of the Other City, Tour De Moon, Bishopsgate Institute, and Fat Out Fest. Maedb is also a regular performer, and trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama (rated 1st in the UK for Arts and Drama), where she was nominated by the school for the Evening Standard Future Theatre Fund in the Devising Category. .events was recently crowned ‘Event of the Year’, and Maedb ‘Writer of the Year’ by the .

What is looking for as a judge:

For me, performance has to mean something. We all have something we want to say, and performance is a medium in which we can tell it through. Whether that’s contextualising your performance with a socio-political perspective, or telling the audience that you are a fierce, bad bitch - tell us something. Communicate with your body, costume, stage presence, soundtrack, face. I personally love a storyline, take us on a journey from start to finish, and keep us engaged the whole way through.

Presenting our first Judge, Sadie Sinner!

Sadie Sinner The Songbird, and she is a creative force! Founder and curator of The Cocoa Butter Club and The Black Burlesque School, Sadie performs a seamless repertoire bursting with the RnB, Blues, Jazz, Motown, Funk and Neo-soul that raised them. Sadie brings entire rooms to their feet- their vocals and vibe, compelling them to dance the night away!

Artist anouncement! These tickets are about to go flying as we anounce Lily Lustre (She/her) as one of our incredible performers. 💗

Lily Lustre ‘The Siren of St******se’ is a Birmingham based burlesque performer who has been professionally un******ng for close to a decade. She has been both a feature and headline act and has performed in 14 countries across 2 continents including multiple burlesque and fringe festivals.
She is known for her slow burn choreography, musicality and variety of neo, classic and comedy acts.
She co-produces a tri annual event called ‘Sunday Best’ in Birmingham which she established in 2018, showcasing pole and cabaret acts and platforming q***r SWers.

Their movement and creative background in storytelling fuses a unique blend of artistic expression that draws audiences in and always leave the crowd wanting more. Their work is not just something to watch; they are truly an experience to be felt.

Nova is a member of House of Pantha, The Black Burlesque School and a 2024 Blackstage Pole alumni. Credits include: Pride London, UK Black Pride, Mighty Hoopla and The Q***r Amsterdam Festival; alongside venues such as The Phoenix Arts Club, The Clapham Grand and The Crazy Coqs.

“Watching Polly Rae’s Between the Sheets show many years ago. But I was attempting bo***ir shoots in my bedroom at the age of 9 so the instinct to bare was always there!”

Jada, What inspired you to become a $tripper?

“I’ve always been happy in my own skin and nudity in front of others has never been an issue for me. I admire and respect all $€x workers, and always wondered about it as a job so when the opportunity came for me to audition, I auditioned and have been dancing for over 15 years. Slowly I lessened my shifts and a few years later started Cabaret/Drag and Burlesque, to where now I mix and match all my skills into one aesthetic.”
