PATCHWORK COLLECTION – DIE INSPIRATION

This week we’re sharing Die Inspiration from the Patchwork Collection, and we’re kicking things off with this wonderfully colourful creation by Diane Williams.

Diane has really embraced the patchwork theme, using a rainbow of bright colours against black to make every little detail stand out. The woven centre is a fabulous focal point, with the coloured strips threaded through the black panel, while those same colours radiate out across the background to bring the whole design together.

The little dragonfly sitting proudly in the centre is such a fun finishing touch, and the Sent With Love sentiment works perfectly with this cheerful design.

We’ll have more Patchwork Collection inspiration to share throughout the week, with lots of different ideas from the design team.

DESIGN TEAM SPOTLIGHT – EMMA KEMP

Now this is a card with a surprise!

At first glance, Emma Kemp’s creation looks like a fabulous double-sided beach bag, complete with sunny yellow and white stripes. Open it up, though, and you’re transported straight to the seaside with a wonderfully colourful dimensional beach scene.

Emma has used dies from Sue Wilson’s Beach Collection to build up all those brilliant little details – from the palm trees, deckchairs and parasol to the beach accessories and three bathers enjoying the sunshine. Even the little aeroplane flying overhead gets in on the fun! The Beach Collection was released by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions in May 2026.

We love how much there is to discover in this project, and the bright colours make it feel like a proper summer holiday in card form. The concept could easily be adapted too – simply change the dies, colours and embellishments to create a completely different theme inside your bag.

DESIGN TEAM SPOTLIGHT – LYNN LEWIS

Gaming fans, this one’s for you!

We’re shining the spotlight on Lynn Lewis and this bold birthday card created with the Birthday Collection. The brilliant Birthday Tech Stamp takes centre stage, packed with gaming-inspired details including controllers, headphones, handheld consoles and plenty of stars.

Lynn has used Alcohol Marker Pens to bring the stamped images to life, with pops of blue, pink, yellow and purple set against crisp Polar White Card. That vibrant Lime Foundations Card really turns up the energy, while Raven Black adds strong contrast and makes the whole design pop.

The Plain Diamond Mat & Layering Dies create the fine lime frame around the central design – a simple detail that gives the composition a completely different look. Lynn has then used Jamie Rodgers’ Male Relations dies to add “Brother” around the corners, tying the card perfectly to its recipient.

A fun, contemporary birthday card and a great one to have up your sleeve for the gamers in the family.

Morning everyone – today’s the day!

I’m back on HobbyMaker today at 2pm & 7pm, and I’ve got rather a lot coming with me!

I’ll be launching my new Flourish & Bloom Collection, plus the new Half Circles joining the Mats & Layers Collection, new sentiment stamps, the Labels Die, 5 new stencils and some gorgeous LemonCraft Paper Pads.

There’s a real mixture in these shows, from beautiful florals and decorative dies to those really useful products that you can bring out time and time again. I’ve got lots of samples and demonstrations ready, so hopefully there’ll be plenty of inspiration along the way too!

Morning all, apologies I promised I would share a few photos with you yesterday… but here’s just a few random bits of our day yesterday at Alton Towers.

I don’t know if these photos will capture much to be honest, but you’ve possibly picked up over the years, my love of theme parks.. one of my biggest loves for them is the stories they tell with theming and design, I suppose in many ways it’s the same as we do with our paper crafts, it’s all about creating that illusion, that realism that escape from (in our case a piece of white card) a blank space in to something that conveys a story, conjures an emotion and creates memories.
Theme parks to me, are the place that design really comes to life and knows no bounds… so to escape to see one every now and again certainly tops up my creative mojo… ♥️

DESIGN TEAM SPOTLIGHT – WENDY WALTERS

Santa’s checking his list, and this fabulous festive make from Wendy Walters has definitely made the nice list!

Wendy has been creating with the Christmas Elves Collection, putting the brilliant Father Christmas Stamp & Die Set right at the heart of this 8x8 card. Santa has been coloured with Watercolour Pencils, with Diamond White Texture Paste adding that wonderfully snowy finish to his suit.

The Christmas Toy Frame Die is packed with festive details – presents, toys, rocking horses, teddy bears and more – and looks fantastic cut in crisp white against the soft Blue Dusk Foundations Card. Layering it with the Postage Square Die in Ice White Pearl Card gives the whole design a beautifully finished frame.

And we have to mention that gorgeous pop of red in the corner! Wendy has used Crushed Velvet Rose Red Paper with the Rippled Poinsettia Die, creating a rich, tactile embellishment that ties in perfectly with Santa’s suit. The “I Love Santa” Winter Wishes Wordies sentiment and little gem details complete the design.

A lovely mix of traditional Christmas imagery with a softer blue, white and red colour palette.

I love a beautiful statement die, but I also love those products you use again and again.

There's a really nice mixture coming to HobbyMaker on Tuesday.

We've got the decorative side with Flourish & Bloom, but then there are the Half Circles, Labels Die, sentiment stamps and 5 new stencils that can become really useful additions to your craft stash.

And, of course, we've got those lovely LemonCraft Paper Pads to add into the mix too!

I'll be live at 2pm & 7pm and I'm looking forward to showing you everything properly.
