Cheques amounting to £2,589.94 were presented during last nights rehearsal to representatives of our two selected charities for 2024.
Collections were conducted during concerts held at St James’ Church Welland in June 2024, Powick Parish Hall in July 2024, and a series of six Christmas Concerts at Stanbrook Abbey in December 2024.
Penny Dyer represented Alzheimer’s Research UK, while Pete Juzl represented Severn Freewheelers Emergency Blood Bike Service.
Both representatives provided brief talks on the utilization of the funds.
The cheques were presented by our musical director, Tom Wells, with introductions by Chairman John Tinnion.

Powick Community Choir
Christmas Concerts
December 15th to 18th 2024
Stanbrook Abbey Hotel

Christmas is approaching very fast….in particular if you are a member of Powick Community Choir.
The preparation for our mammoth run of 6 concerts in 4 days begins in August when Tom, our Musical director, is sitting in the sun in his shorts selecting the music.
14 weeks of twice weekly rehearsals, endless meetings, Tickets sales and programme preparation along with the logistic of moving and erecting our very cumbersome staging and the technicalities of lighting and sound in the beautiful and historic setting of the Callow Hall at Stanbrook Abbey. Tom will also be busy orchestrating multiple pages of music for our professional String Orchestra.
All of this is done by a very willing band of volunteers and choir members.
Despite the hard work, we all look forward to the incredible experience of singing such a beautiful programme of music.
To many of us it is the highlight of our Christmas.

Why not come and join us?

Tickets are £15 each and are available online from Monday 4th November from our website below

A limited number will be available from The Shop at The Top, behind The Old Bush in Callow End

Have you ever wondered what that sound was emanating from the Powick Parish all on a Thursday evening and a Sunday afternoon?
It was the Powick Community Choir rehearsing.
Now is your opportunity to come along and watch us perform, FREE OF CHARGE, we will be performing some of our more popular numbers from our extensive back catalogue.
All we ask of you is that you donate to our Charity collection on your way out.
This year the choir is supporting the Severn Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Blood Bike Service and Alzheimer’s Research UK, both very worthy causes
