Hello, I am Bill and thanks for taking the time to look around my page, if you have got to this bit you are probably more than a "casual observer" so you may want to know a bit about me. I am experienced in a wide variety of photography from sport, through wildlife, architecture and travel, although I am happiest when photographing people. I enjoy street photography enormously and after my first f

ew portrait sessions know that this is an area I wish to explore more. I am also starting to get asked to do some event photography, shots from a recent concert at London's Royal Albert Hall can be seen on the site. This came about through my work with Black Swan Film and Video, a company specialising in filming Classical music concerts for whom I often help as a camera operator. I am keen to expand my photography into this area. I have also recently been commissioned to take stock shots of various towns for local authorities. I recently shot my first full main orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic at the Albert Hall, this is an area I want to expand. I remember being asked what it was I wanted for my 14th birthday and the answer was "a camera please". It was a Halina 35mm compact camera 'with light meter', this little workhorse served me well until soon after starting work I decided to join the big boys and move up to an SLR, the good old Zenit E with the standard 50mm lens. I developed my love of motor sport while using this, an incredibly large box of slides and prints bears testament to this. The Zenit was replaced a couple of years later by a Practika B100 SLR with an automatic 50mm lens, a nice little camera that kept me going until about 6 years ago, during this period I also took up cine film making and although I was pleased with a few of my efforts I never became the UK's Speilberg! I bought my first digital camera in about 2004, a 360k pixel beast that would loose its pictures if the battery wore out. That didn't last long and I moved on via a few compacts to my first DSLR, a Nikon D50, chosen solely on feel, the equivalent Canon and Pentax models did not sit right in my hands. I now use a pair of Nikon D700s as my main cameras. I use Nikon 24 - 70 and 80 - 200 and Sigma 120 - 300mm F2.8 lenses. Plans for expansion to the collection are afoot ! If you have a need for a photographer please get in touch, I will be pleased to help. Very pleased to be able to share this post by the Cambridge Philharmonic Orchestra and British Youth Opera for whom I had the honour of photographing the rehearsal and performance of their production of Benjamin Britton's Peter Grimes at Saffron Hall. This is a selection from more than 800 photos I delivered, It was one of the most dramatic events I have ever covered and the staging was very inventive. I hope you like these.

Went for a walk around Arger Fen today, tried out some extension tubes I was given by a friend for my OM Systems OM1, they seem to work with the 40-150 F4 lens but not my12-40 F2.8 for some reason. The first 5 were taken with that combo, the lake shot was a multi shot pano and the last an HDR combo of two images.

A quick trip to Felixstowe today for a walk along the seafront, it was pretty cloudy and at times a bit wet, got a couple of shots with the OM1 of the big wheel that is still there, although we didn't see anyone get on it while we were nearby. First shot is handheld at 1/2 a second using the inbuilt 6 stop filter in the OM1 on the first shot.
