Qualified TCRG with CRDM
St John's Irish Dancers was founded in September 2005 and is run by Louise and Tricia Coyne. With over 60 years of dancing experience between us and constant asking of St John's School to set up an after school club we finally done it. She competed in competitions and became a champion back in the day :)
Louise started dancing at the age of 2, not much choice really when
my mum was teacher and I was the only girl! But I loved it and continued up to the age of 18, also competing in regular competitions. At the age of 11, I became All England Champion in St Patricks Irish dance association. I also took part in All Scotland Championships, Great Britains, and Regional qualifiers, where at the age of 15, I qualified for the World Championships. At 18 I hung my shoes up for a few years whilst earning a living. Then at 23 formed St John's Irish Dancers with mum. Starting off at just 2 hourly lessons per week back in 2005 we now run 3 classes on a weekly basis. We have up to 25 dancers age ranging from 5 - adults. We are a fun based school with the aim to keep dancing traditional, enjoyable and a hobby. We do take part in regular competitions throughout the year and belong to CRDM organisation which again is fun and friendly. Over the years we have produced multiple champion dancers. We have 10+ regular Open Championship top 5 placers along with top 5 podium placing at World championships each gaining their globe , British national champions, Celtic European champions, Great Britain champions and many other numerous titles along the way
Its lovely to see the smiling faces of all the girls and boys that take part in classes and even better seeing their happiness at competitions when they achieve their goals to win medals trophies and cups!
