Update about our autumn schedule:

Firstly, we wanted to let you know that we are postponing the Autumn production due to a lack of rehearsal time. However we continue to read plays & plan for our spring production on a Wednesday evening at the Youth Centre and would be delighted to welcome anyone who would like to join in.

We are also having a cheese and wine evening on September 15 (keep an eye out for our flyers which are out soon!) and we will offer new recruits the chance to take part in short comedy sketches, so they can have a taste of PETS and the fun to be had. Thank you!

😄😄

Got to http://www.elsteadtheatrical.co.uk for more information and to book your seat!
Somewhere near the coast in Britain is a Naval Intelligence Cold War Bunker, manned by four naval personnel nearing retirement. Only, as far as the Royal Navy is concerned, the bunker was decommissioned in 1991 and the staff were made redundant.
But somehow they all slipped through the net and continued to receive monthly pay cheques from the Ministry of Defence computer system.
Peter decides to bring a friend in to bring all the equipment up to full working order.
Imagine the alarm at Naval Headquarters when they start getting distress signals from a defunct bunker.
Time to panic! With hilarious consequences ...

There's still time for you to book tickets for the Elstead Play "You're Only Young Twice" by Ron Aldridge! Performances take place on 11-13 April at 7.45pm and tickets are £10 each.
Brooksie is a little unruly to say the least. Tom, Brooksie's best friend, is a little more reserved, but he is easily influenced and starts to show signs of being envious of Brooksie's lifestyle; then he begins to fall under the its spell. This doesn't fair well with Rose, particularly as her best friend, Julia, is to marry Tom in two days' time.
The wedding plans continue to move forward until a particularly heavy stag night and several indiscretions, at which point everything is thrown into confusion.
A hilarious comedy from Ron Aldridge the writer of "My Dog's Got No Nose" and "It's Never Too Late". This play will have you rolling in the aisles and wondering, will this wedding ever come off?

A lovely comment from Jan in our inbox - thought you'd like to see it: "Just seen your superb tribute Lest we forget Elstead in world war 1. Well done to all. This would be fantastic to take into your local school so generations never forget. Going to read your historical booklet now. I know how much effort and time will have gone into what you have done to mark the centenary." :) :)

November sees the centenary of the end of fighting in the First World War, a war which saw Elstead play an important part. Of the 910 people living in Elstead at the start of 1914, 92 of them signed up for service within the first few months. Sadly 38 of them never returned home.

So the Players of Elstead Theatrical Society will commemorate these historical events with a very special show. A large cast has come together to bring you a series of amusing and moving sketches, music, singing and lots more based around actual events. In 1919 Elstead welcomed the end of the war and the return of its soldiers at the start of peace.

Performances take place on Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 October, and tickets are priced at £10 each. Please click here for more information: http://www.elsteadtheatrical.co.uk

Last night PETS held their usual Wednesday evening rehearsal for their production in October half term week - it was a great evening and the choir sounded fantastic! We still need some younger men to join us to act in some sketches & sing (in the chorus). PLEASE Elstead men - where are you? This production is going to be wonderful and is a tribute to the 38 men of Elstead who died - men over 18 and either under 50 or young looking (!) would be particularly welcome! Why not come along next Wednesday evening to the Youth Centre at 8pm and join in. You will be most welcome! :) :)
