Viva Voce ( graduate Performers club members) gave great performances on Sunday for Momentum the young children’s cancer charity with Lesley Garrett at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington.
Louise Moseley sang the Mozart Alleluia, and Kitty Casey sang the Dew Fairy from Hansel and Gretel. Both these young singers are Performers club graduates.
A packed hall cheered these young singers singing ensembles such as the Barcarolle and the Lakme duet.
Performers club is a great confidence building start, whether or not you want to be a professional performer.
To be able to address an audience confidently, use your voice well, feel you can speak ( and sing!) authentically- these are all skills best learned young from experienced professionals in a supportive (and very beautiful) setting- a lovely country house in Glynde with a large garden in which to let off steam in break times before returning to learn a new dance routine, sing in parts, write a scene, practice audition technique, try your hand at directing....

Easter Holidays Dance/Music/Theatre Workshop for kids aged from 6 -13.

No more boring holidays for Performers Club kids as we kick off the Easter break with a five-day theatre workshop, culminating in a show performance here in Glynde (nr Lewes) from 8th April 2019.

Whether your kids love the spotlight and looking for the opportunity to find out more about theatre life from our team of professionals; or more interested in 'behind the scenes' activities including script writing, stage and set design, we guarantee a week of confidence building fun and friendship.

We look forward to meeting your children at our next workshop in April for our five day Easter holiday club where we will meet up in our large country house in Sussex. Over the five days we tell stories, improvise scenes, sing, write a script, chat with new friends, work out who is playing which character, design some costumes, make some props, before the final performance on Friday afternoon!

With the group of professional musicians, actors, designers, dancers, composers with careers in the West End, the National Theatre and the opera world on hand to offer advice, support and ideas; it is a wonderful week of fun laughter and life long memories.

THE PERFORMERS CLUB FAQ!

Wondering if you should send your children to the Performers Club?

During the week our carefully assembled teachers, all with a background in West End musicals, Theatre and Opera will encourage your budding performers to understand how their singing voices work; try writing a scene; learn a poem to perform; act out a scene; dance; improvise and do some audition practice, all in a totally supportive environment.

In a beautiful historic country house in Glynde, your young performer will have freedom to learn to own his or her space, to confidently address a room full of people, and talk in a connected way - vital life skills - best learnt early.

They will develop a new confidence, make some friends and learn new ways to communicate. Going back to school with new confidence and abilities, we often find means that your young performer will make that speech at school,or be more inclined to speak up in class, or audition for the school play or musical. All learned while having huge fun!



By the end of the week, on Friday afternoon, the stage will be set for our final performance, to which parents are invited to relax and enjoy watching their child demonstrate their new confidence and skills while performing a show that we have all created together.

Our next workshop runs from 6 - 13 April ( Easter holidays) from 10am-4pm Monday/Friday at a cost of £200 per child - discounts are available for friends/siblings.

SPOTLIGHT

Director of Performers club, Liz Brice trained at the Royal Academy of Music, the National Opera Studio and has worked with most of the major opera houses including English National Opera, Covent Garden, Welsh National Opera and Glyndebourne amongst others. .

Wanting to try her hand at musicals, Liz started by playing Florinda in the British premiere of Sondheim's 'Into the Woods' with Imelda Staunton and Julia Mackenzie, and is on the British cast recording.
Liz has taught singing for over 30 years; and has run Performers Club, encouraging children to explore their performing potential and to think creatively since 2009.

Many of Liz's students have gone on to sing variously at La Scala, Covent Garden, and Glyndebourne as well as star in an array of musicals.

FIND YOUR VOICE AT PERFORMERS CLUB


Join us this Easter for a week-long holiday club which allows kids to explore their performing ability in a safe and fun environment.
Taking a theme, which could be an opera, a musical, a play, a novel or any combination, we create our own show.
We write scenes, invent characters, tell stories, sing in harmony, direct scenes and finally - produce a theatrical performance for family and friends on the final Friday.

Whether your child is a budding actress, singer or dancer; or is a little shy of performing - we are here to inspire and draw out their talent in a relaxed, happy environment in a large country house in Glynde. in the Sussex countryside.

Priced at just £40 per day for a five-day course, the workshops are aimed at 6-13-year-old children, with discounts for siblings and friends.
