Before the costumes, the lighting and the applause, there are evenings like this.

Scripts in hand, cups of tea nearby, conversations about characters, and plenty of laughter as we work our way through another rehearsal for Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders.

It’s amazing to watch each rehearsal bring a little more confidence, a little more chemistry and a lot more fun as the story unfolds.

There are still plenty of mysteries to solve before opening night… but one thing’s for certain – we’re all having a wonderful time bringing this hilarious production to life.

One of the best parts of rehearsals is watching the characters come to life. Every week the script grows, the performances develop, and the laughs get bigger.

Without giving too much away, Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders is packed with colourful characters, plenty of comedy and enough twists to keep you guessing until the very end.

We’re having a fantastic time bringing this production together, and we can’t wait to welcome you to the village hall this November.

Just remember… in a murder mystery, everyone has something to hide… 👀

Another brilliant rehearsal with The Curtain Callers as we continue bringing Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders to life.

There’s something special about watching a script slowly transform into a performance. Every rehearsal brings new ideas, plenty of laughter, and a few unexpected moments as the characters begin to find their feet.

We’re having a fantastic time already, and we can’t wait to share this hilarious murder mystery with you in November.

🎭 The Mystery Begins… 🔎

Following a fantastic evening of auditions, we’re delighted to announce that the cast has now been selected for our November production of Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders by Derek Webb.

A huge thank you to everyone who auditioned. The standard was incredibly high, making it a difficult decision, and we appreciate everyone who came along and gave it their all.

We’re especially excited to be working under the direction of our very own Janet Clark, whose passion, creativity and experience always bring out the very best in our productions. We know she has some wonderful ideas in store, and we can’t wait to begin bringing this hilarious whodunnit to life.

Rehearsals are now underway, and over the coming months we’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes photos, introducing the cast and giving you a glimpse of all the fun, mystery and mayhem as we count down to opening night.

So keep an eye on our page, follow our journey and get ready to join us in November for an evening full of laughter, suspense and plenty of surprises!

A Huge Thank You from The Curtain Callers! ❤️

What a wonderful afternoon we had at our 1920s Tea Party on Saturday!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, dressed up, enjoyed the afternoon with us and helped make the event such a success. Seeing so many smiling faces, fabulous 1920s outfits and our community coming together is exactly what The Curtain Callers is all about.

We’d also like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers, cast and committee members who worked so hard behind the scenes. From setting up the hall and preparing the delicious afternoon tea, to entertaining our guests and clearing everything away afterwards – your time, effort and enthusiasm are so appreciated.

Events like this simply couldn’t happen without your support.

If you enjoyed the afternoon and would like to get involved, we’d love to welcome new members, whether you’re interested in acting, helping backstage, front of house, costumes, props or simply being part of a friendly local theatre group.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us this evening for the reading of Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders by Derek Webb.
It was fantastic to see so many people there and to hear so much laughter as we brought this wonderfully entertaining murder mystery to life for the first time. We hope everyone enjoyed getting a glimpse of the characters, the comedy, and the mystery that makes this play such a fun production.
We’re especially excited that the show will be directed by our very own Janet Clark, and we can’t wait to begin bringing her vision to the stage.

THANK YOU for Supporting Third Week in August
🎭❤️ We're delighted to announce that together we raised an incredible £750 for The Big Space Cancer Appeal through our production of Third Week in August by Peter Gordon.
At The Curtain Callers, we are incredibly proud that our productions not only entertain local audiences but also help support worthwhile causes within our community. Over the years, the generosity of our audiences has enabled us to make donations to a number of fantastic charities, and this year was no exception. Our director, Janet Clark, chose The Big Space Cancer Appeal as the beneficiary of our retirement collection. The appeal is working to transform cancer care in Gloucestershire by creating a modern new facility at Cheltenham General Hospital, providing improved treatment areas, consulting rooms, research facilities and therapeutic outdoor spaces for patients and staff. The fact that we were able to contribute £750 towards this important project is a testament to the kindness and generosity of everyone who attended our performances.
From all of us at The Curtain Callers, we are grateful to our supporters helping us make a difference in our community.
