The Gloucestershire Arts Council (GAC) for several years has attempted to renovate and reopen the Olympus Theatre . Regrettably due to a change in direction by the owners towards the project GAC had to step away in 2020 . Still determined to deliver a Theatre space for the City and working with its original partners Gloucester University, Gloucester City Council , Schools , Drama , Music , Danc
e , Poetry , Spoken Word , Film , Artists and numerous community groups we have in 2022 found a new venue and will be developing this project during the coming year. The Olympus is a beautiful derelict theatre in need of saving but with external issues which now make a meaningful project undeliverable. The new venue offers a 500 seat theatre , Arts Hub and outdoor performance venue all in one complex , central to the city centre with great access and the opportunity to create a Cultural Quarter and a fully connected development of the Arts for Gloucester .
