For our last meet-up before pausing for the school summer holidays, we swapped our usual singing time for a different type of singing session!
Great fun doing Karaoke. 🎤 Yes, that did include Christmas songs in July! 🎄🤷‍♀️
Followed by a bite to eat over the road at the pub! 🍽
Next session after the holidays is Monday 11th September at St. Lawrence Church Centre. New members always welcome. 😊

We're rebuilding our 'choir' (more of an informal singalong!) having restarted it in late 2019 (after previous leader left) just before the pandemic hit and it was going really well with about 25 members joining in a short time.
However, since the pandemic, some members have not returned for various (unrelated!) reasons such as health issues or transferring to pandemic-friendly options during that time. I'd also been initially cautious about our return after Covid but those concerns have now passed.
We had been meeting on 1st and 3rd Mondays of term time which only worked out at about 15 meet-ups per year due to Bank Holidays etc and this has proved an issue for some who were finding it hard to keep track and also would prefer a weekly meet-up (with the option of course to miss one now and again!).
These factors have meant that numbers have been quite low recently; which then means it's not quite as good as with larger numbers!
Therefore, during March, we are trialling running every week and are aiming to spread the word to see how far we can get things back on track before considering how our future looks.
I'm continuing to build our song list; we have a diverse range of songs including traditional, musicals, Disney etc.
For the most part, we sing along to tracks but I will start bringing my piano again in due course to add a bit of another dimension and interest.
There is absolutely no need to have any musical ability - it's more about the fun of singing together and the social element. :)
There's no subscription or pressure; I do just ask for a small donation (£2) to help me with costs.
Suitable for all ages including children but parents need to stay.
Refreshments are also provided.

Good fun to be back singing together again and had a nice run through of the latest addition to the folders - 'I Know Him So Well.' 🎶
Great to see some new faces tonight and was lovely to finally go 'back to normal' with a cuppa and biscuits afterwards too! ☕️🍪
Plenty of space for more members (all ages welcome including children)... feel free to come along and give us a try next time. It's very laid back and relaxed. 🙂
Next meet-up is Monday 17th October 6.30pm - 7.15pm (followed by refreshments) at St. Lawrence Church Centre, Barnwood.

Pandemic has led to loss of some members (through situation, nothing worse!) so we now have plenty of space for new members. :)

All ages welcome including children, no musical ability necessary - just enjoyment of singing - we sing along to tracks or the piano (following the words on sheet music or lyric sheets).

Diverse range of songs from traditional through to Disney etc.

We meet fornightly Monday evenings during term times. Next one tomorrow evening at 6.30pm.
