We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II yesterday afternoon. As a mark of respect tomorrow’s event has been postponed by the council. We hope to run it again in the future and will let you know more details as we know them. The artists in residence are holding a reflective community space for people during this difficult time for our country. This will be held at St Nicholas”s Church, Westgate St, Gloucester from 12pm to 4pm. Where there will be the opportunity to gently make stars while sharing our thoughts, or just sit in the company of others and be in the space with the community. So sorry to disappoint you all and we hope to see you at the main event in the future.

The unveiling of our community artwork coupled with street party celebrating the life, history and community of Westgate in Gloucester is in just 2 days!

Come and take part, join in the creativity, activities, open mic, or simply enjoy the dancing, music, poetry or quiet space. Come and be you, and be welcome

10 days and counting until the community takeover of Westgate Street

What have we made?  A textile artwork made up of hundreds of stars paying homage to the area’s rich history of tailoring and millinery, making an impressive colourful splash on the high street.

Just over a week until the big day!!

Saturday 10th September Noon - 4pm

We have a lot of exciting things planned - DJs, Spoken Word, Music, Dance, Open Mic, Talks and more!
Come and join in the fun and celebrate the rich and varied history of Westgate.
We are running alongside Pride - so much to see and do on the day!

Our huge community collaborative artwork will be unveiled on the day - come find your stars, or simply marvel at what people can (and do) achieve when they come together

Brilliant time creating a whole galaxy of stars @ The Cavern in Westgate St.
Thank you guys for being wonderful participants and excellent hosts and for introducing me to my new favourite thing in the world the passion fruit cavern shake - I will be in very soon for another one or three 😆.
The Cavern have graciously offered to be a collection and drop off point for anyone who wants to collect a pack and instructions for making their own star to add to our collaborative community artwork to be shown outside Shire Hall on the 10th September at the community take over.
