I’m not gonna lie, it’s been HELL but EMPIRE IS NEARLY 2!!! 🖤 and we are gonna celebrate SURVIVING!!

Where do I (Maddie) even begin? What an absolutely crazy two years it has been.

When we opened the doors to Empire, we had big ideas, huge hopes and probably absolutely no idea what we were letting ourselves in for, let alone what we were doing!! 😳

There have been incredible highs and some pretty devastating lows. There have been nights when this place has been absolutely bouncing and we’ve stood back and thought, “We actually did this.” We’ve accumulated nearly 10.000 followers and raised over 20 thousand pounds for local charities…which we are super proud of 💖

And then there have been days when we genuinely wondered whether we could carry on.

Running Empire has tested us in ways we could never have imagined. Financially, physically and emotionally, at times it has nearly broken us. There have been tears, sleepless nights, setbacks, mistakes, difficult decisions and plenty of moments when walking away would probably have been the easier option.

But we didn’t.

Somehow, through all the madness… WE SURVIVED. ❤️

And Empire is still here. And here to stay!

Still throwing parties. Still serving dinners. Still filling the dance floor. Still trying new things. Still getting things wrong sometimes! And still getting back up and having another go.

But most importantly, we still have you lot (I tear up as I write this 🥹)

Every person who has walked through our doors, booked a table, bought a ticket, come to bingo, danced until 1am, brought the kids, had Sunday lunch, celebrated a birthday, hen party, wedding or simply popped in for a drink has played a part in keeping Empire alive.

So this birthday feels a little different.

It isn’t just Empire turning 2.
It feels like a celebration of surviving the bloody journey to get here. 🥂

And if the last two years have taught us anything, it’s that you never quite know what’s around the corner. The hospitality business is hell right now. Not just for us but for all venues. Please keep supporting us all🙏

As you know, our Breast Cancer Afternoon Tea is taking place this Friday at The Empire in Glossop. 🩷

I know that quite a few of you are unable to attend on Friday, but I wondered if you would still consider supporting our fundraising by making a small donation?
