Calling all 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦! Fishkeeper Fry is back for 2027, and registration is now open!

Looking for ways to develop global citizenship, create pupil ownership and independence in your classroom?

This short 8-week programme has been designed to be delivered in the primary classroom by the schools' own teachers. It uses a series of weekly online lessons that include instructional videos and engaging activites. This guides pupils step-by-step through the key themes such as setting up an aquarium, creating an effective micro-habitat and looking after the fish day-to-day.

The resources have all been developed to support the Curriculum for Excellence, to get children excited about caring for living things and develop an understanding of how to look after and care for them responsibly. Participating schools will be provided with their very own FREE aquarium, all the associated equipment that is used in the programme and regular support from the expert fishkeepers based in your local store.

Our plant of the month this month is Microsorum pteropus 🌿🪴🌿

This hardy plant grows up to 50cm in height and can be attached to wood or rock to create a great scape 🌿🪴🌿 It enjoys a wide temperature range of 22-28oC 🌡️ and partisl light💡to thrive.
