We are GTP - amateur in title only, we have been performing in Glasgow's south side since 1949. We don't sing and we don't dance, but we perform comedies and dramas to the highest standard.

🎭 MEET THE CAST: DAVID PEARSON 🎭

Our cast spotlights continue today with David Pearson, playing Grover's Corners' reliable lawman, Constable Warren!

David first joined GTP back in 1973 for the club's Silver Jubilee production of I Remember Mama. Over five decades with the company, he has played an assortment of bogus detectives, priests, doctors, and servants, while also helping with publicity, front of house, and production assisting. Outside of theatre, David is a passionate music lover and regular music magazine contributor who loves hunting for vinyl at record fairs.

🎭 MEET THE CAST: JUNE STEVENSON 🎭

Next up in our cast introductions is June Stevenson, playing the local gossip, Mrs Soames!

June has been performing since 1982, joining GTP in 1989 after starting her stage career with Pantheon. A staple of the club both on stage and backstage with props, June's recent roles include Anne-Marie in A Doll’s House, Mrs Campbell in Whisky Galore!, Sadie in The Slab Boys & Cuttin’ a Rug, and Owl Eyes in The Great Gatsby. Her extensive credits also span productions like Calendar Girls, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, and Kindertransport.

🎭 MEET THE CAST: JACK HODES 🎭

Continuing our Our Town cast reveals, meet Jack Hodes, taking on the role of the troubled choir director, Simon Stimson!

Jack made his acting debut as Andy in The Steamie back in 1991 and has since built a vast repertoire with GTP, featuring in favourites such as Whisky Galore!, And Then There Were None, The Great Gatsby, All My Sons, and Noises Off. Across other local theatre companies, he has taken on iconic lead roles including Frank in Educating Rita, Paul Sheldon in Misery, and Juror No. 7 in 12 Angry Men. Jack is delighted to step onto the Eastwood Theatre stage once again for this latest production.

🎭 MEET THE CAST: IAIN WILSON 🎭

Today we are delighted to introduce Iain Wilson, who takes on the role of newspaper editor Mr Charles Webb!

Iain is thrilled to return to GTP following his performances as George Campbell in Whisky Galore!, Chris in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, and Dr Armstrong in And Then There Were None. Across the local theatre scene, his notable credits include The Slab Boys, Tally’s Blood, Little Women, Men Should Weep, and Oliver!. Iain brings fantastic experience to the stage as the editor of the Grover's Corners Sentinel.

Next up in our cast introductions is Kevin McMaster-Watson, who plays the eccentric local historian Professor Willard!

Kevin joined Giffnock Theatre Players in 2023 and has become a familiar face on our stage, with roles in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and Whisky Galore!, as well as a memorable turn as the formidable Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest earlier this year. Having previously performed with East Kilbride Rep, Kevin brings great comic timing and experience to this production.

Continuing this week's cast spotlights for Our Town is Imogen Carmichael-Smith, taking on the iconic role of Emily Webb!

Imogen made her GTP debut earlier this year playing Gwendolen Fairfax in The Importance of Being Earnest. Her impressive stage credits include playing Juliet in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Johanna Faustus in Chris Bush’s Faustus: That Damned Woman, and Wendy Darling in Ella Hickson’s Wendy and Peter Pan. Imogen is thrilled to return to the GTP stage and step into the heart of Grover's Corners in Thornton Wilder's classic play.

🎭 MEET THE CAST: HOLLY FERGUSON 🎭

Next up is Holly Ferguson, playing George’s younger sister, Rebecca Gibbs!

Holly joined GTP in 2023 and has been involved both on stage and behind the scenes ever since. After debuting as Sarah in The Great Gatsby, she has taken on roles including Cecily Pigeon (The Odd Couple), Lucille Bently (Cuttin' A Rug), Monica (The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie), and most recently Peggy Macroon in Whisky Galore!. Outside of GTP, Holly continues her creative pursuits across stage, screen, writing, and composing.

🎭 MEET THE CAST: BRANDON KING 🎭

Our cast reveals continue today with Glasgow-based actor Brandon King, taking on the iconic role of George Gibbs!

Brandon is ecstatic to be making his debut with Giffnock Theatre Players. Holding BAs in both Acting and Performance and Musical Theatre, Brandon's previous stage credits include Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Ed/Dad in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, along with work on several short films. He is thrilled to step onto the Eastwood Theatre stage and bring George’s story to life.

🎭 MEET THE CAST: GARRY KENNEDY 🎭

Next up in our Our Town cast spotlights is Garry Kennedy, stepping into the shoes of the town milkman, Howie Newsome!

Garry joined GTP in 2011, making his acting debut as Scanlon in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Over the last 15 years, he has contributed both on stage and backstage across numerous productions. Some of his favourite performance roles include Jonathan Brewster (Arsenic and Old Lace), Andy (The Steamie), Billy (Sailmaker), Bill Livingston (The Women of Lockerbie), and Joseph Macroon (Whisky Galore!). Recently retired, Garry enjoys skiing, live music, writing, and hill-walking. He is looking forward to delivering milk—and performance—in Grover’s Corners (Bessie the horse included!).
