A Wrap on some of the gorgeous fruits of socially engaged creative and community labour this year.

It's a great privilege and pleasure to engage with so many humans and learn and explore so many aspects of the world and society through my working practice as a visual and social artist. Of course it can also be incredibly challenging and exhausting in other ways. But I am feeling gratitude for the creative tools and ways of thinking ,seeing and feeling I have at my disposal to sensitively and playfully process them.

I'm enjoying a well earned break as we turn into the new year. I'm excited to start some new projects with The Children's Parliament in Easterhouse Glasgow and deliver a special ecotones Niki De Saint Phalle -animal and fears -children's wearable sculptures- inspired session at Hauser and Wirth in Somerset as part of Children's Mental Health week in January 2026.

It's difficult to condense my multifaceted practice and life but I want to say thanks to all who've welcomed me into their community folds ,collaborated ,made and contributed with their brilliant big minds ,Hearts and hands. It's been a big year of activity 🍀

Hallelujah for peachy human connections

And mighty blessings for 2026 ✴️

For the past three weeks I've had a magical time immersing myself into the majestic landscape of the isle of cumbrae as part of my project Bodies of Land ,taking part in a community practice residency hosted . it's been a rich few weeks meeting the generous community, making work ,exploring the built and naturally formed landscape and marvelling at the in-between spaces. My dear pal came out to document, film and muse on the themes, she took these stills of me by Native American rock after a boggy walk across that left us giddy.
This rock was painted by Fern Andy a local hermit and has continued to be marked and repainted not unlike the famous crocodile rock in the main town of Millport from decades before. I was initially drawn to the language between dwellers and the characters and meaning placed on the geological formations on the island in my proposal. Me and the rock had matching eyeliner and my green jacket popped in the hues of autumn. I've absorbed a depth of knowledge and practice that I'm percolating with and excited to reflect on.A delicious way to end the year.

This weekend we have our creative connections showcase which is a culmination of the second year of work making and collaborating with an Edinburgh based primary school and .The children have spent time in the gallery ,studio and in their own class rooms making works inspired by the eclectic programme of artist exhibitions over the year including Ibrahim Mahama, Holly Davey ,Barry Le Va and Portia Zvavahera.

Some of these works will be shared this weekend in the Upper Gallery at the Fruitmarket and we're very excited to share what we've made.
