Here's a lovely video of Kenny Bean's installation for HOME, 'Rain'. Footage of local people submerged in water and suspended in the air was merged with images of water and rain and projected onto the side of Kenny's Caravan Obscura, evoking memories of rain-lashed caravan holidays. Kenny's Caravan then travelled along the Festival hotspot trail from Dunbar to Helensburgh, turning into a camera obscura and transforming the view of the landscapes around it.

To fill the void after the end of the John Muir Festival, we recommend reading up on artist Alec Finlay's excellent blog. Accompanied by poets Gerry Loose and Andrew Schelling, photographer Hannah Devereux and joined along the way by Rebecca Eland, Luke Allan, Ken Cockburn and Colin Will, the group set out to walk the entirety of the Way, planting pairs of trees whose species are defined by the initial and end letters of a poem-motto, composed after a phrase drawn from John Muir's writings.
They have beautifully documented their journey, creating poems based on their experiences in the wild, sharing stunning photography, and by leaving little momentos along the route. It is well worth a read.

Well we can't quite believe that it's all finished! What a week we had, from launching the Kelpies in Falkirk to launching hundreds of walkers, runners and cyclists onto the brand new John Muir way. Our sincerest thanks go out to everyone that was involved, from our partners, to all the artists, the event staff and crew, all our excellent volunteers, and last but certainly not least all those folk that came out and got involved in the John Muir Festival, helping us launch the John Muir Way. We reckon Muir himself would be proud.

Keep an eye open for images of the festival to come!

We've nearly reached the end of the John Muir Way and our Festival, so here's some images from our hotspots along the Way. Join us in Helensburgh tomorrow for our Finale Procession from Hill House to Hermitage Park, then at Loch Lomond Shores for our ultimate Festival Send Off!

We've been working our way along the John Muir Way all week with our John Muir Hotspots. Local schools and walkers, runners & cyclists have been seedbombing with Guerilla Gardener Darren Wilson, trying out Kenny Bean's Caravan Obscura, meeting our roaming John Muirs from Mischief La Bas and carrying our specially designed flags for a section of the John Muir Way.
