Many Studios Many Studios is a creative hub in the East End of Glasgow, providing a wide range of workspaces and a venue for hire.

Many Studios facilitates a dynamic, engaging, creative environment for its members and the public alike through our venue and studios provision. Many Studios is a creative organisation founded in 2010 as a not-for-profit business focused on providing affordable work and events space to artists, designers, craftspersons, and start-up creative businesses. We currently have forty unique spaces and ov

er sixty members at our Ross Street studios, including two shopfronts facing onto the historic Barras Market; as well as a gallery space currently home to the independent, artist-run, Market Gallery. We also have a bright, airy, accessible Events Space with large street-facing windows available for hire. Opposite the studios is our recent project the ‘Pocket Park’, a collaborative public city garden project developed with architects New Practice. Composed of a series of raised block planters, it offers a pocket of green within an otherwise urban environment.

We have 2 studio spaces coming available soon at Many Studios. The studios are 8sqm and 19sqm and each would suit a wide range of practices.

Many Studios is a staffed, well serviced, independent organisation, providing support for up to 90 studio members in our creative hub - from artists and designers, to writers, architects and more. All the studios are equipped with the following:

~ 24 hour access
~ Good heating
~ Bright, daylight
~ Reliable Wi-Fi
~ Communal kitchen space
~ Cycle storage and maintenance equipment
~ Shower facilities
~ Rent inclusive of all bills and services
~ Use of our Events Space which hosts a wide range of events
~ A dedicated call booth/quiet space
~ Located next to the Barras Market and lots of great local amenities
~ one minute walk to Trongate

📕 We’re excited to be able to share a wonderful new book that our team were working on in the background for quite a few years.

‘Delineate’ is an artist book project, produced by Natalia Palombo (Many Studios), Kayus Bankole, and Tiffany Boyle (Mother Tongue).

‘Delineate’ brings together texts, visual responses and poetry from writers, artists, curators, exploring the links between colonial-era cotton, linen, jute and paper trade in/through/via Scotland. Rather than separate histories with divided geographies, ‘Delineate’ seeks to make connections across materials, timelines and places otherwise often seen as unrelated, despite having Scotland as a common denominator. Across these contributions are shared queries, protests, returns to particular historical moments and visual strategies: from archival research and the use of collage or cut-and-mix, to family explorations across generations, looking to moments of radical industrialisation historically as a key turning point.

The book features work from Alberta Whittle, Cassie Ejezi, Chizu Anucha, Daisy Desrosiers, Irineu Destourelles, Swapnaa Tamhane, Tabita Rezaire/Olaniyi Studio, Tanatsei Gambura.

The project is funded by Edinburgh City Council, The National Lottery through Creative Scotland, Canada House and Hope Scott Trust. The publication was designed Musheto Fernández ().

🕯️ COMMITTEE OPEN CALL 2026

Market Gallery are looking for two new Artist-Programmers to join the Market Gallery Committee in October and November 2026!

This is an opportunity to join Market for a two-year term on the Committee, developing your research interests, programming collaboratively and contributing to both the day-to-day running and the future direction of Market.

Committee members should be able to dedicate approximately two days a week to this role, though this time commitment fluctuates depending on the programme of events.

This role is remunerated with a stipend of £1088 per month on a freelance basis. Committee members are also supported in research and professional development, as well as with at least one funded group research trip during your term on the Committee.

Just over 10 years ago, officially moved into a building that we repurposed and retrofitted for artists in the city and further afield. Working with , we created 42 industrious workspaces, including a gallery/event space and three street-facing units, now hosting an independent gallery () and two small businesses ( and ). Over 20 artists joined us from our make-shift artist studios on Miller Street, and many artists have been with us the whole time (14 years!).

We don’t shout about our work a lot, but marking 10 years has been a fantastic opportunity for us to reflect on what happens here at Ross Street, and how important is has been to create a long-standing, independent creative place that supports artistic and cultural development in Glasgow. At the core of our work has been ensuring we can provide affordable, quality workspaces for creatives long-term, developing a model that supports the sector. But through that, we have consistently created exciting jobs, supported our membership in nuanced ways throughout their careers, and presented exceptional projects and programming for our local communities and for the city (including as ).

Whats coming up at Many Studios?!

Next week OffPage open their 4th annual exhibition on visual poetry and poetic visual. Opening Thursday 21st May 6:00-8:00pm and continuing to 31st May, daily 12:00-5:00pm

Many Studios is a small organisation. We do not receive public funding for the organisation, generating approximately £100,000 to £140,000 per year through workspace and event space hire, primarily. This scale allows us to work together collaboratively and nimbly (sorry), responding to our communities in nuanced ways. It also allows us to work slowly, creating truly manageable and enjoyable roles where people can grow and learn together. Come and join us!

Whats on at Many Studios Tonight?!

When everything’s starting to look the same, sound the same, and follow the same shortcuts, it’s easy to get swept up in that wave of sameness. Suddenly, you don’t sound like you anymore – and you’re not standing out. Lola Hoad from Good Call Studio is here to stop you drowning with her gift of a life jacket (in the form of a talk, workshop and Q&A at the next Jot).
