For the first time ever, three Scottish q***r choirs share the stage for A Celebration of Pride! On the 8th of August at 7:30 at the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow.

A vibrant showcase hosted by Q***r Voices Glasgow, with guest choirs Loud and Proud and Còisir Cuèir, and MC’d by show‑boy and chanteur Tom Harlow.

Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
IDAHOBIT exists because too many people still face violence and marginalization for simply being who they are. True progress requires active allyship—speaking up against casual prejudice and making sure everyone feels seen and safe.
Last night at our Spring Concert we sang songs like “Safe” and “Smalltown Boy” which illustrate these situations where we just wanting to feel safe to be who we are.

On the 5th of April last year, we had QVG’s 2nd annual Spring Concert!

It was a great opportunity to interact with our community and is only the start of many concerts we hope to perform at this spring through summer. Our choir was joined by guest performers: singer-songwriter Clare Quinn and writer and musician Carrie Marshall. All profits went towards keeping our choir going and also towards funding our trip to Various Voices in 2026!

One week from today (16th May), we’ll be hosting our third annual Spring Concert at the Fotheringay Centre at 7pm. Joined by our guest musicians: Orla Noble & Julie anne McCambridge. Similarly it’ll help towards funding our trip to Various Voices in Brussels at the end of June, as well as our future ventures.

We’d love you to come along to our concert, where we’ll share a set of songs about who we are and finding safety in community; and others too that are fun to sing and make us want to get up and dance.

Q***r Voices Glasgow is a community choir made up of singers from across the city, the West of Scotland, and further afield.

We’ve grown steadily over the past few years, and we’re proud to offer a friendly, supportive space where q***r folks can socialise, sing together, and boost their wellbeing. Recently, we’ve performed at the Queen’s Park Choir Festival, the Burrell Collection, and the Govanhill Street Music Festival, as well as the Scotland Climate March and Proud Future’s Pride Peers event. And in June, we’re excited to be heading off to Brussels for Various Voices – the European q***r choir festival – which will be our very first international trip.

This is our third annual Spring concert in a row, and we’re absolutely thrilled to share with you a set of songs about who we are and finding safety in community; and others too that are fun to sing and make us want to get up and dance. If you like what you hear, come join us at our next open rehearsals on the 11th and 18th of September at Queen’s Park Govanhill Church of Scotland.

We’re delighted to have Julie anne McCambridge join QVG as part of our Spring Concert on the 16th of May at the Fortheringay Centre in Glasgow! Tickets available now via the link below!

Julie anne McCambridge is a powerful and innovative singer-songwriter who can floor an audience with a whisper and a holler.

Julie anne sang for a living in the streets and cafes of Prague and Antwerp before settling in London and recording her first album, “Stars and Mud”, in 2001 with Neil Pickles of Reveal Sound. A residency in Covent Garden’s Cafe Baroque cemented her reputation as a rare performer of original material. A stunned Paul McCartney broke off a conversation about pork chops just to listen to her classic “Skyscraper”...Album, “Nature Makes Amazing Shapes”, was recorded at the Funkhaus studios in Berlin in 2016. The album arrangements feature an exotic array of percussion, including radiators, step ladders, and Louis XIV dentures.

After busking in Berlin as the Wall was battered and performances in the mud of Glastonbury, she is now back home in Scotland. When she’s not singing to the seals and learning sea shanties, she is working on an album concept featuring songs that give a voice to the various distinct parts of our psyches.
