On the 8th of August, we had our choir collaborative concert: A Celebration of Pride!

It was the first time in Scottish theatre history, that 3 LGBTQ+ choirs did a show together in Scotland, and performed at the Citizens Theatre! We were joined by Loud & Proud and Còisir Cuèir, as well as our host Tom Harlow for a night of q***r joy, solidarity and powerful choral music. It was an amazing night. Would you want to a collaborative night like this again?

Highlights of QVG’s trip to Brussels for the Various Voices 2026!!

From the 24th to 28th of June, most of the Q***r Voices Glasgow choir travelled to Brussels (our first time abroad together) to perform at the Various Voices Festival.

After weeks of grey rainy weather in Scotland, we hit a heatwave during our stay at Brussels, so was lovely seeing the city in full sunshine and gave plenty of excuse for ice cream and drinks. We had a few rehearsals and then did 4 performances through the week:

25 June - Afternoon Concert at La Madeleine
26 June - Royalties Show at Cirque Royal
27 June - Street Concert at Parc Royal
27 June - Vaux Hall Summer at Vaux Hall

We really enjoyed performing for audiences and loved watching and listening to other LGBTQ+ choirs from around the world.

Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
IDAHOBIT exists because too many people still face violence and marginalization for simply being who they are. True progress requires active allyship—speaking up against casual prejudice and making sure everyone feels seen and safe.
Last night at our Spring Concert we sang songs like “Safe” and “Smalltown Boy” which illustrate these situations where we just wanting to feel safe to be who we are.
