Scottish singer-songwriter Jacob Alon heads to The Poetry Club on Monday 23 September 2024.

Both intimate and devastatingly introspective, Alon's music is touched by a rare timelessness. Drawing fair comparisons to artists such as Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright, his sound cuts through the air with powerful and haunting vocals, intricate guitar playing, and pensive, poetic lyrics.

The Poetry Club: Est.2012

Thursday 26th October marked the launch night of The Poetry Club: Est.2012, an exhibition celebrating over a decade of The Poetry Club, brought together by one of Scotland's leading contemporary artists, Jim Lambie, and SWG3 Founder and Director, Andrew Fleming-Brown.

A place of legends and I-was-there moments, The Poetry Club has established itself as a haven for alternative, underground culture since its opening in 2012. Its tiny stage has played host to the most cosmic of icons, on nights embedded in Glasgow cultural history. Where Patti Smith, Richard Hell, John Giorno, and Primal Scream have all shared centre stage with a host of other musicians, spoken word artists, and performers – and through a range of curated photography capturing moments from the major to the minor, the significant to the fleeting, The Poetry Club: est. 2012 exhibition brought together just over a decade of art, expression and counterculture featuring pictures from a host of people including Mark Dickie, Jason McPhail and others.

Thanks so much to everyone who attended the launch night, and visited the exhibition !!

We can't wait for Scottish hyper-pop artist KLEO's headline gig at The Poetry Club on Saturday 17 February 2024.

The first headline artist for our new 'The Poetry Club presents' series has gained positive press from the likes of SNACK magazine, When The Horn Blows, God is in The TV and XS NOIZE to name a few, and she has captured the attention of many in the Glasgow music scene with her unique blend of music which splits the difference between hyperpop and darkpop. Drawing on influence from industrial, K-pop, house and trap, she has crafted her very own brand of post-internet pop.
