Its broad repertory includes new versions of the classics, seminal pieces from the 20th-century modern ballet canon, signature pieces by living choreographers and new commissions. As a truly national company, Scottish Ballet performs at theatres in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasg

ow and Inverness and in smaller venues throughout Scotland. The Company’s long history of touring internationally includes visits to China, USA, Malaysia, Portugal, Ireland and the rest of the UK.

After more than 12 years with Scottish Ballet, Soloist Thomas Edwards will give his final performance during the Mary, Queen of Scots tour in New York, before embarking on an exciting opportunity in America.

Tom has brought immense joy to the company, both on and off the stage. He has danced across the full breadth of Scottish Ballet’s repertoire and stands out for his remarkable ability to transcend styles and bring authenticity to works by choreographers including Crystal Pite (), Javier de Frutos (), Helen Pickett (), Jess & Morgs (), and of course Sophie Laplane (), among many others. His infectious energy and love for the art form will be deeply missed.

We are incredibly proud of Tom and cannot wait to see him flourish in his new chapter. Please join us in wishing the very best to our dear friend, colleague, and dancer. 💚

First look at photos by from our shoot in New York on Monday. From the West Side to the East, Manhattan makes the perfect backdrop, and our dancers loved posing in the steam filled streets.

To celebrate Volunteers’ Week (1 - 7 June), we’re spotlighting two of our wonderful volunteers, Gerry and Hazel who support our neurological dance health classes including Dance for Parkinsons, Time to Dance® and SB Elevate®.

“It feels like a bit of a cheat to say that you’re volunteering because you actually come and have a really good time. It’s something to do every week, you meet the other volunteers, you meet all the amazing participants. It’s just fascinating, and it’s nice to think it might be doing somebody some good somewhere along the line.” - Hazel

“I started volunteering because I was looking for something to do… If you’ve got that in you to volunteer, this is the best place to volunteer. Scottish Ballet are so supportive. The other volunteers are really, really nice. We rotate around, so every time you come in it’s different people.” - Gerry

Dance health classes are made possible and even more joyful with the support of our volunteers like Gerry and Hazel. Thank you to all volunteers at Scottish Ballet and those that take time out to support our dance health initiatives.
