Dancers are rehearsing two pieces of work ahead of our autumn double bill, Emergence.

Choreographed by Crystal Pite, Emergence returns to Scotland for the first time in ten years. Set to Owen Belton’s haunting score, the full company becomes a living super-organism — urgent, precise, unstoppable.

This unforgettable work shares the stage with a world premiere of Entress by award-nominated choreographer Julia Cheng 鄭嘉欣 (Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, Fiddler on the Roof). Music composed by Isobel Waller-Bridge () feat. Percussionist Beibei Wang 王貝貝.

Limited performances in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh from Sep 10 - Oct 3.

Pointe shoe prep with Liz ✨

Like any other shoe, pointe shoes can fit each dancer very differently. What a ballet dancer might need from their shoes might also be different for each production and piece of choreography. From darning and shaving the soles for balance and stability, to cutting elastics and ribbons, each dancer prepares their shoes in a way that is personalised to them.
