FLAPS is crowdfunding!

We’re a grassroots, peer-led welfare service supporting nightlife and festivals across Scotland and NW England. Since 2022, we’ve provided emotional & sexual welfare care at Hidden Door, Solfest, Kelburn, and beyond- offering a safe space, roaming support, 24hr on-call care, workshops & more. In 2024/2025 we expanded to nightlife, working closely with Femme 45 as safe space reps as well as Corto Alto, The Barrowlands, CC Blooms & Beltane Fire Festival.

To keep going, we’ve launched a crowdfunder to support:

Upkeep of our pink caravan HQ & bell tent

More training for inclusive, trauma-informed care

Volunteer Access Fund to cover costs for low-income team members

Goal: £1,000 to support these essentials & grow sustainably.

Please share & support us at the link in bio and help protect everyone's right to party with respect, dignity & safety.

Harm Reduction Training with FLAPS

📅 Sunday, 16th March
⏰ 2:00 – 4:30 PM
📍 .autonomous.space
9 Hollybrook St, Glasgow G42 7HH

Led by our glorious FLAPS member Brenna, Women’s Development Worker – Digital and Harm Reduction, this training will increase your confidence in how to approach drug harm reduction at clubs, festivals, and anywhere else it may occur.

Pay what you feel – all contributions will go back into the FLAPS pot to help us make festivals and nightlife safer. We will also be donating to GAS for the use of their space.

We ran an online version of this workshop for our members last year, and it was very well received. Feedback included:

💬 “The online session was fab last time.”
💬 “I know much more about the effects of different substances, especially how they interact with one another and what this looks like.”
💬 “This would be so useful for anyone doing welfare or first aid at festivals.”

Please DM us or email [email protected] to book a space.

Love n' FLAPS x

🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED! 🚨

Friends of F***y Riot and beyond, we come to you with some heartbreaking news: After 10 years of The Space, the building is now at risk of demolition, as the landlord wants to demolish it to make way for for-profit flats. The Space has facilitated space for numerous community projects, hire spaces for artists meet ups and events, workshops and affordable studio rental/hot desking.

Thanks to their funding initiative The Betty McAlister Fund, F***y Riot were able to facilitate 6 months of the 'Grrlz Night In' events, a monthly meet up for women, non-binary and femmes to enjoy a night in of relaxation with film screenings, workshops & hearty meals over the autumn and winter periods. Thanks to this fund we were provided the venue, tech hire and support free of charge. Included in this fund we also hosted a clothes swap day with a free tailoring service. This fund was a vital support in the ability for us to be able to put on events like these, as a small organization with limited funds. The Space was also host to our first ever f***y mask making workshop back in 2019.

Our example is one of many countless examples of The Space's facilitation over the years. BUT, all is not lost! You can help make a difference. If you don't want to see a vital community space go, please follow the instructions below to make an objection. The community has until 3rd December to object to the demolition.

T minus 2 days until we nestle into the KGP welfare village with the wonderful teams at Welfare & First Aid. You can find us at the bottom of the Summerfield, opposite the Smugglers tent. Having a wobbly or need a safe space to reset? We are here for you ☕ ☀️💗

The FLAPS tent is open every day from 12pm-12am for drop in chats, with our caravan available any time for sensitive 1-to-1 support. If our tent is shut and you are in need of support, do not fret: our team will be roaming in the festival and on always on call to open up the space to anyone who needs it. Look out for the pink boiler suits or speak to any of the teams at event control, security, welfare or first aid and ask for FLAPS.

We are committed to protecting your right to party safely and can't wait to carry this ethos into the field for another year at KGP.

See you in the fields ⛺
